Candy Corn

Candy corn tastes like candy-flavoured wax, in my opinion. But nothing is as bad as a Kerr's kiss. Are they sold outside of Canada?

We don't have those, thank goodness!!! We do have some similar candies that get handed out for the same reasons - they are cheap!

explain to a slightly bewildered Brit exactly what candy corn is? im thinking sugar coated kernels ofsweetcorn??

Candy corn is a sweet replicate of dried corn kernels. It's considered a "mellow cream," a name for a type of candy made from corn syrup and sugar that has a marshmallow-like flavor

I was really excited when we saw it in the supermarket during our road trip this summer. I had never had it before but it's such a big cultural thing that everyone over the world know of it's existence.
So we immediately bought it and...

I don't like candy corn. No, I don't like candy corn.
I like lot's of other things but I don't like candy corn.
*ends singing*

It mostly tastes like fake to me. Like it's not really anything. It's not soft, it's not hard. The flavour was unrecognizable to me. It felt like eating really cheap candy.
To Europeans: you might know Haribo and I really expected it to be a bit like their bananas candy with a different flavour but it really IS NOT.

I like to stick them to my teeth so that I have pointy teeth! love them!
lol
but I like circus peanut candy too...
I do love circus peanuts!! Ooooh I even asked people to take a bag home for me when they went on holiday to the US a few years ago.

I still don't get what Grits are Cheryl, and candy corn kinda freaks me out .... it looks like a tooth ... weird! :cornfused
I had grits this summer. I didn't know what it was and the waitress was a southern girl and was super positive about it so I gave it a try. I swallowed my first bite because we were in a restaurant but that was that. OMG give me a kilo of candy corn if it means I never have to eat grits in my life. What a wrong decision on my end to order it. But now I know.

I had candy corn M&Ms which I thought were good although my husband thought they were a waste of good ol' M&MS. I also bought the butterscotch ones which tasted great but they really need to work on their presentation...they looked like, ahem, little baby animal turds!

No. No thank you. No candy corn for me. I'll take my sugar in another form, please.
