Candy Corn

I don't know what it is about Candy Corn. I detest it. But every year I need to have one to remember why I detest it.
:crazy3
Also, my 4yr old daughter likes it, but we didn't know some candy corn has egg in it, and it made her sick. We felt horrible.

I love candy corn too- but the old school original- and not the pumpkins or the other mixes. BUT- hubs & I are hard-core dieting so no candy :( I did have a handful prior to our strict diet started though- so at least I don't feel deprived of the candy corn season! ;)

Give me a nice Milky Way and day ;)

sorry Ashley I feel like I'm totally stalking you now!

Ha!! We sing that song every year around this time! It's from Noggin, sung by Moose A. Moose ;) I totally know my stuffs! My kids were Noggin junkies when they were tiny.

as for candy corn, I think it's pretty, but I don't necessarily care to eat it. Maybe a small handful each year? that's about all I can take of it.

Candy corn tastes like candy-flavoured wax, in my opinion. But nothing is as bad as a Kerr's kiss. Are they sold outside of Canada?
It was described in one newspaper as, "Sticky, uninspired and imbued with a bizarre earthy taste, they’ve nevertheless been a Canadian Halloween staple for more than 50 years." You could either trick an unsuspecting younger sibling into trading it for some (much tastier) tootsie rolls, or, you could mash it all together and sculpt it like an oily, sugary playdough. I've linked to a pretty hilarious video, but the jokes are mostly CanCon. http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/sticky-uninspired-and-bizarre-why-canadas-most-hated-halloween-candy-just-wont-die

I haven't even seen what video it is (it hasn't loaded for me yet), but i KNOW the song you're talking about - lol! i actually LOVE candy corn, about twice a year. (*and i miss Noggin and Moose A. Moose!*)

I still don't get what Grits are Cheryl, and candy corn kinda freaks me out .... it looks like a tooth ... weird! :cornfused

Grits are a type of cornmeal mush (kind of like creamy polenta) but the corn meal is often white. Great for breakfast with eggs etc. Also delish!!! with shrimp aka shrimpngrits.

Then there are G.R.I.T.S. girls raised in the south. I learned that one back in the late 80s from a co-worker from Florida.

And candy corn? gag Pure sugar colored to look like a kernel of corn but somehow it really is icky. Tolerable in my mind mixed half and half with salted peanuts. But seriously, unless you love it, why waste the calories? :evillaugh
