Happy Friday everyone!

My tagline here used to be “swooning over warm bread” or something similar so I’m going back to my roots with today’s chat topic - bread!

Bread is one of my favorite foods, and lately I’ve been using our bread machine to make homemade bread. DH wants to try making sourdough now so that’s up next.

Do you eat bread?
Do you prefer white or wheat?
Do you like sourdough?
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)?

Do you eat bread? I eat low carb bread now, although I prefer the bagels for portion control
Do you prefer white or wheat? I would go for white, whereas the rest of the family will go for brown or wholewheat.
Do you like sourdough? LOVE sourdough, when I eat out, it's my first choice.
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? Many years ago I would make some with yoghurt, cheese and bacon. It was amazing.

Do you eat bread?
I do, probably less than I did when I was younger - you could say I was addicted back then!

Do you prefer white or wheat?
In an ideal world, it would probably be Multigrain but being gluten free it's not really an option now so I now stick to white mostly for versatility purposes (though the GF wholemeal bread I use is more brown coloured than wholemeal as such so if it's the only one available I'll buy it)

Do you like sourdough?
No real opinion either way as it's been so long since I had any

Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)?
Yes but not in a traditional sense. Early on in my gluten free journey, an ingredient I found I was intolerant to was in almost every premade gluten free bread so I was forced to make my own. I ended up buying a bread maker and finding a boxed mix so it essentially was a case of dump it in the machine and let it do it's thing. While it was a decent product for what it was, it wasn't terribly versatile so when a bread manufacturer came out with a gluten free white and wholemeal bread a few months ago, I tried it, fell in love with the options I suddenly had and haven't gone back to making my own.

Do you eat bread? yes I do
Do you prefer white or wheat? I love white bread and Khobz (Moroccan round bread in white)
Do you like sourdough? mmm yes
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? White bread, Monkey Bread, Banana Bread, Zucchi Bread, ... bread sticks, rolls, sourdough, Amish Friendship bread... chocolate chip cookie bread.. just tons of breads! *L* I make tons of breads!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of homemade bread cooking!

The bread you made sounds amazing! I thing there’s a similar recipe for our bread machine; I should try it!

I think I was addicted when I was younger too. I would eat a slice of bread after every meal and it drove my mom crazy lol

It sounds like you’re the bread making queen!

Do you eat bread? Yep.
Do you prefer white or wheat? Either. I'm not really picky. I like to try it all!
Do you like sourdough? Sometimes.
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? Yep. All of it, lol! I taught a geography homeschool group class where I made bread from the different continents we were studying. That was a fun adventure!
Weekly, and sometimes twice a week! I make white bread. I haven't mastered wheat bread yet, but I do make it. I need to get better at it. I also make sourdough. It's pretty easy, mostly just takes time. I don't have a bread maker, so I make bread with my mixer and by hand.

Do you eat bread? YES!!! Esp. love hot yeast rolls.
Do you prefer white or wheat? I like both, but PB&J must be on white
Do you like sourdough? It's okay
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? Only my grandmother's banana bread recipe and it's been decades since I made it. I don't eat it, so when my daughter got old enough to make it for herself, I stopped making it.

Do you eat bread? Sure do!
Do you prefer white or wheat? I probably prefer a good white bread - like a french baguette -- but for sandwich bread I use whole wheat since it's better for you
Do you like sourdough? Yes, love.
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? Like many during the pandemic, I learned to make sourdough bread and got really good at it. I got tired of keeping a starter alive, though so I've pretty much given that up. Hubby bought me a bread machine a few years ago and I like to make an oat bread that is half white flour, half whole wheat (and oats, of course). Really good with some butter and jam for breakfast.

Do you eat bread? Yes, sometimes.
Do you prefer white or wheat? White. I buy half loaves and they last me at least 10 days if not longer
Do you like sourdough? Don't know if I've ever had it.
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? That would be a big no.

The only way I can eat bread these days is if it is toasted or a grilled cheese sandwich. Soft bread or rolls stick in my throat. Even now if I have something as simple as PBJ, I toast the bread first.

You're amazing for making bread weekly without a machine!

I feel the same about sourdough - it's okay.

Mmmm that oat bread sounds delicious!

I'm sorry soft bread and rolls stick in your throat. Sometimes I have issues swallowing and it's so annoying (and sometimes very scary!).

Do you eat bread? I do!
Do you prefer white or wheat? I go back and forth. I like them both :)
Do you like sourdough? I love sourdough. I've never tried to make it myself, but I've thought about it a lot lol
Have you ever made bread? What kind(s)? I've made some simple white bread and banana bread occasionally, but most often I make Amish Friendship Bread. I like to try different variations of it - cinnamon, chocolate with peanut butter chips, plain with choc chips, choc with choc chips :) I keep a starter in my freezer.

I used to love baking bread. I grew up with homemade bread and learnt all different kinds including savoury and sweet. Since discovering that I'm coeliac my love of baking has disappeared. GF bread options are so limited unless I use loads of additives, and less enjoyable to bake .

I love that you make different variations of the Amish Friendship Bread. They all sound delicious!
