Back to School: Pad Patter 8.12.15.

Hugs, Jaye!!!! I can't imagine since my are still little... but it must be so hard!

thanks Jenn, next week we really start planning and taking a look at what we have for his dorm and what is still needed.

I started my last semester of university a month ago which is kind of a big deal. I'm still deciding if I can afford to move into student accommodation for post grad study next year - I'd need to have $600 in October and $900 in January which is going to be tough to do I think without a miracle

My son will be moving away for his first year of college on Sept.5 (let go mom, let go) and he begins classes on the 8th. I work in a high school and will be back on the 8th also.

Hugs. My best friend is taking her oldest son to college today. 5 hours away. She is dying. But it is good. We are 2 years away from this and I know I'll probably be a wreck for a while, as well. I vividly remember when I left for college and not understanding why my mom was so emotional (I'm the oldest and only girl... hello). She got a cat the week after I left, LOL.

I'm the *youngest* and only girl. My family (including my two older brothers) had a dog until shortly before I was born, and I spent my entire childhood begging for them to get another dog. A couple months after I left for college? Yup. Dog.

I teach and we started back this past Wednesday, but kids don't come until Thursday the 20th. My boys will be in 4th grade which makes me feel like they are getting so old. I am ready for the schedule, but not ready for the craziness that often comes with the school year. For the first time, they are not going to be playing soccer this fall and so I am assuming that will help give us a little more down time--I am hoping anyway.

Laura, I bet your daughter will still send you a selfie of her heading out the door on her first day!!

I am trying to think positive about school. My son is ADHD/Aspergers and he will be starting 3rd grade on August 24th in a new school.
I enjoy the lazy, do whatever we want, no schedule of summer. And totally tear up the first day of school.
Ok. I admit sometimes it is more than tear up. lol!

Sending wishes that everyone (Moms, kids & teachers) will have an awesome year!

We started back on August 5, so it was a week and a half ago. My kids are in 10th, 8th and 5th this year- my last year with 3 different schools! (unless you count college as a different school?!?) My son is doing well so far- he's been studying a ton for his preAP English class, my 8th grade daughter is taking high school Algebra and Spanish this year (so much work~!) and my 5th grader is enjoying electives for the first time and loves being back to soccer. We actually had our first soccer game of the season this morning! Yay for activities!

I will have a 2nd Grader this year. :cry She starts back on the 1st of September. I am not ready. I really enjoy the summer and do not miss schedules. I am not even the one in school and I am complaining..lol! Her baby brother will miss having big sister around and I am going to miss being able to take our time and not watch a clock whenever we decide to do something.

Mine are starting their 2nd full week and I have mixed emotions about it all. I have a 9th, 6th, and 2nd grader this year.

Although I am not really one for schedules, I think it was time to be back on one. Everyone was BORED and getting on each others nerves by this time.

I DO NOT look forward to all the homework, especially with my son. We seriously spend hours each night on it, mostly trying to keep him focused. I also do not look forward to the tuition payment again. After 2 month off and having the extra money it is really hard to go back to paying each month but I keep telling myself it's worth it.

I am looking forward to basketball season again. My oldest has played since 3rd grade and it's usually a crazy but fun time! And.... I am looking forward to having more me and scrapping time. The youngest 2 that are still home with me take about a 2 hour nap each day and it's pure heaven!!

We moved from Indianapolis to Cheyenne, Wyoming last month so we have a whole new school experience ahead of us! My daughter starts first grade next Tuesday (which is 3 weeks later than she started kindergarten last year in Indy), and thankfully, she is excited abt a brand new school & making new friends. Her birthday was yesterday, but we are waiting until next month to celebrate so that she can invite some of the friends she will be making in the next couple of weeks to the party. We are staying with friends until our new place is ready for us, so right now, we live close enough to the school to walk there. That will be fun... until I have to walk home, uphill, pushing the baby in the stroller. :giggle

I am looking for work, but in the meantime, I will really enjoy having a couple hours to myself when the baby naps in the afternoon and while DD is at school. Maybe I will even get to scrap regularly again!

I'm dreading Jamie starting kindergarten. This is the kid that only potty trained 11 months ago. That part's ok, it's his strong will & stubborn personality I'm worried about. He's so bright, but he gets in his own way. The school is giving him his own helper for a week or two to get him situated. He was significantly speech delayed, but is at 85% now so he doesn't need special ed. As long as he gets the teacher he interviewed with, we should be ok. His pediatrician said "You know there's always that one kid running around, a little wild, with more energy than the rest--he's that kid. Don't worry." Wish me luck.

My oldest, also very stubborn and full of energy was speech delayed as well. She had a language aide in preschool, but just eked into the lower end of the "average" range before we had to sign her up for school. She just started this month. Fingers crossed for our kiddos! :)

Fingers, toes, & everything crossed Lorry. ;)
