So I was thinking about a recent completed MOC page that I wasn't too crazy about. I was wondering what I would do to "fix it" (and walking the dog at the same time).

So what do you think? Should we have a "before" and "after" challenge when MOC is over?
i.e. here is what I did for MOC and here is my revised version of the page

Or is it just me that doesn't always like my MOC pages?

No it's not just you. Sometimes I create a page just because it's the challenge.
I haven't thought about any that I want to "fix". But I very much like that idea of a challenge. It might be next month "random" challenge? If I remember correctly, there was something like this last year.

Some of my layouts are just challenges. They won't get printed. Some I might use as a calendar topper. So I won't necessarily be redoing any of them.

I've tweaked a few challenge layouts after posting - adjusted some journaling, added or removed a few elements, etc. I also have a few that are just challenge layouts. They'll go in my electronic scrapbook but won't get printed.

I don't print everything, some only live on my pc when it goes into screen saver mode and that's enough for me.
Just being involved in MOC gets me all enthused about scrapping again, about telling the little everyday stories and getting layouts done and printed - all wins in my book.

I do remember there being do over challenges - a few people got upset because they HATE redoing pages - something about having too many pages to do to redo any - so I think they stopped doing them or something - but I always thought do over challenges were fun - that way I could "fix" pages that I didn't like from other challenges - because honestly, if we do challenges we are all gonna have to do one that is just not us, lol! I always put my pages that just don't quite fit into a folder just for those "do-over" challenges when they come up.

So far this year, I have been pretty lucky with my choices (and the challenges) and I really like every page I have made. Some won't be printed, but that's just because of what they are (about me pages might go into a mini album one day...). And there has only been one so far that I need to change, but all I needed to do was crop it for a pocket page.
I remember last year there were quite a few that were completely for the sake of the challenge, and needed to be fixed up, and I'm sure there will be some coming up this year, but I am loving being pushed out of my comfort zone this year!

I like the idea. Some of the challenge LOs don't make me happy because of the constraints of the challenge. I figured I would either "fix" them or just never print them in 12x12 size.

Everything that I'm doing is getting printed in at least a 3x4 size for my Project Life/365 album. Even if I'm not crazy about it, it is an accomplishment.

well, I usually don't like my pages period LOL
I tend to spend hours with little details and sometimes is terrible the feeling but I cant keep on for days... of course sometimes I love my pages, but I always said that I am the kind that makes 1 great page per 5 that are average or bellow....
so, no, you aren't on your own...
Thing is, as you have until the Feb 2nd... if there is something you really really think can be improved, you can do.... at least I think it was like that when I played?

But I think doing AFTER would make me feel worse, because I would be dwelling on the fact that I could have improved the page before MOC was finished!!!!

and this is why I love you so much Stef.... and your pages are major inspiration to me, and yopu are one of the most amazing memory keepers I have ever encountered!!!!!! @Eyeore

I just had to re-do my layout for day 22 after realizing that I used a kit that was not in the store anymore (that's what you get for looking for the wrong keyword). Yikes! Never again. I had to find replacements for almost everything and now my credit list in as long as my arm. And I find my layout looks botched.
I don't think I will ever re-do a layout voluntarily, :-). Once it's done it's done.

I have some that to me are plain old hot messes because of requirements I find headache inducing like too many elements on a page or 4 patterned papers...I think they may get printed because I have a lot of 8" credits at Persnickety and I think this will be fun to look at and groan a bit. Will I bother to redo them? I doubt it. I too am a done is done person. Boy that sure is a Myers-Briggs "J" coming out! The "P" people, on the other end, will be happy to fiddle til the cows come home - yes @Mrs.Peel ?

I like the pages I make. Personally I don't mind re using a photo of mine and making a new page, but I don't like redoing a page. So far I am happy with all of my pages.

Sometimes I think I'll edit a page after I submit it for a challenge but I never do, and I usually end up printing it in my annual album too. It could be labeled "lazy." :D

I remember a do-over challenge DURING MOC last year. It wasn't my favorite challenge because like Maureen said, I feel like when I've decided a layout is done, it's done. However, I happened to have a layout I'd just thrown together when I got my computer a few years prior, to test it out, so expanding on that worked very well and it turned out being one of my favorite pages of MOC4.

edited to answer the original question: Yes! I think a do-over is a creative idea for a future challenge. I wouldn't do it otherwise, but it wouldn't be that difficult. Not as challenging for me as, say, a one photo clean and simple page. :giggle

There are pages I've made that I wouldn't have made & I'm not sure how they'll fit into my printed albums...so it might take me longer to print a few of them. But overall I'm happy with my pages.

Another thing about me is that usually... I don't make pages that I don't like. If I don't like my page, I won't submit it. I find the middle ground of the requirements and me linking the page. Most of the time, I trash it if I don't like it and start over. Done is also done for me.
