I have been on track (except that 1/4 cup of homemade bananna pudding) for a little over 3 weeks. Seeing the scale go down and not up has been MAHvelous! I laugh at my inch loss, my fingers and toes lose weight first. My rings are all swirling on my hand!
I am walking a mile now! this is huge.
We are in the middle of getting a treadmill (due to heat-98 degrees yesterday), and that is going to be a huge inspiration for me!

@IntenseMagic hope you were able to fit in a few days to the gym in the craziness of last month!

@Lynnette hey were you able to find a food tracker that you like and can use?
( I use carb manager-free) but honestly, kinda quit a few days back ha ha

@Gaelle Hope your headaches have subsided and you are able to track your foods again! ♥

@yellowpeep we have no Trader Joes, but Amazon has the no sugar chocolate chips! AND now walmart has a bag also win win win

@LynnG-you are so beautiful to me, and I hate that you have inflammation and pain, I hope you are enjoying your "keto" sandwiches. my hubby got hot dog rolls yesterday-he loves them. They make me swell in my joints, so no go for me. sadly boo hoo

Thanks for checking in @AnneofAlamo
I'm not good at that. Life. Busy.

It's going well. Or was up until today. I found a sugar free milk chocolate in a store we usually don't shop at, so I bought it, ate it and now I'm a bit nauseous and regretting it :lol and not sure if that's cheating or not.

I've also been trying to fit in the bare minimum of strength training, which is hard with my illness. But I've been trying to to do 10 squats or 10 push up or something every hour. It takes just a minute and I'm not sure it's good for anything. But what if it is, you know? Better than nothing maybe.

I am finding sugar alcohols or fancy wErythritol is the worst for my tummy, it is horrible! check the milk, I bet that is how they sweeten it. hope you feel better and squats and lunges are my nemesis!

Thanks, I'll check it! But silver lining- I don't want more of it! Hahah

Hi everyone! Well, this was an out-of-the-ordinary week, so will take a few days to reverse its effects! Went to a conference at our home office where food was plentiful and prepared by others and delivered at regular intervals. I just went with the flow and ate whatever I wanted. I did not take advantage of the free alcohol on Taco Tuesday, but when a few of us were waiting for flights out of St. Louis (4 hours at the airport), we went to a wine bar for drinks and snacks, and well, that caused the usual shocking inflammatory weight gain. I'm sure you all know how it is...just travel days and being away from home, I feel very bloated and swollen. But back on track right away.

My last appt with my NP was very helpful. She was ready to up my dose, so I'm at .5 mg of semaglutide now. We had a discussion about hair...I've always had short hair and don't really notice hair loss...until the last couple of weeks. It's more like hair breakage, but also some shedding. She said to add a multivitamin for now that she recommended. She wasn't too worried about it as it can happen with rapid weight loss (though I don't think my weight loss has been THAT fast). She also advised there are about 18 different actions in the body that can cause hair loss so it's really hard to figure out a best course of action.

@AnneofAlamo

I had my 3 monthly visit with the doctor to see how my journey is tracking and i have GREAT NEWS!!

20 months ago I started on Saxenda (liraglutide) and 6 months later switched to Wegovy (semaglutide) and at the same time monitored every other possible thing health wise. I haven't lost any more weight on the scale but doctor noticed the muscles in my arms and my measurements have fallen (I lift heavy weights 3-4 times a week).

Yesterdays results showed ;
1. no longer insulin resistant
2. Ferritin levels now at 51 from 17 (normal range)
3. Blood pressure consistently normal for more than 12 months
4. Excellent kidney and liver function
5. Cholesterol in normal range
6. Vitamin D excellent
7. Bowel screening all good
8. 3 ovarian fibroids all shrinking
9. Bone density scans excellent (T score +2.1 which is 2 deviations stronger than a 30yr old)
10. I have gradually weaned off the highest 2.4mg wegovy dose down to the 1.7mg

So I am one very happy chick :cheer:clap:rollin:yahoo

Oh my gosh, no! It's been pretty crazy around here. My oldest had to go away with the Army for a couple of weeks, so I've been keeping my granddaughter a few nights a week. And school is just exhausting right now. I'm out for summer in a couple of weeks and I'm going to hit it hard!

Anne! :cheer You are the best cheerleader! I have been using the free version of My Fitness Pal to track... although it's so hard for me to keep it going everyday! Honestly I rarely hit my goals, but I think I get closer when I know I'm keeping track. My protein goal is 115... I can usually get to 100 but that extra 15 is hard for me! And fiber is hard for me too. I'm thinking I may need a supplement for that one.
I might check out Carb Manager just in case... maybe if I like it better I'm more likely use it? Anyway, off to log today's food...

I've been on track.....sure I could eat better but the main thing is my IBS symptoms are under control & I haven't glutened myself by accident. Sure at times, my food choices feel limited but I'd rather not have the gastric issues so it's a bit of pick the best choice out of two ok choices kind of situation Haven't necessarily lost any weight but that's always an uphill battle with me having PCOS or whatever the new name for it is that I saw this past week.

I saw the new name, too. It makes more sense...it's a broader metabolic issue than previously indicated by the legacy name.

I'm not sure what your fiber goal is, but I have no problem hitting 25 to 35 gm a day with no "fiber supplement".
Did you know that 1 TBS of chia seeds packs in 4 grams of fiber? easy to add to a smoothie, or oatmeal.

It's all about balancing it out, and I'm with you on learning to evaluate my choices knowing that some things are going to make me feel bad if I eat them.

I just stumbled across this thread and I think this is where I need to be. Thank you @AnneofAlamo for being the cheerleader.

I've struggled with my weight most of my life. I grew up in the 50s and you were expected to eat what was put in front of you WHEN it was put in front of you. Children are starving in China! (My WM Doc was surprised to learn parents actually said that. He's young.) I don't think I learned to recognize hunger and full signals. Plus stress eating. Besides, I just like food!

So, during my weight management appointments, we talked a lot about the mental attitudes - slow eating, mindfulness, healthy choices, move more, yada, yada. Been there, done that, the T-Shirt doesn't fit any more.

Finally started a GLP-1 (Zepbound) two weeks ago and I've been amazed at the difference. I'm actually learning how it feels to be full. I've actually used a take-out container from restaurants and I'm leaving food on my plate (the frugal genes are NOT happy about the waste).
I'm interested to hear how others are doing with the GLP-1s. Surprises on the way? Side effects? I've had a lot of belching (so lady like!) and some heartburn. I'm hoping it will go away eventually. Anyone else have this?

Plus stress eating. Besides, I just like food!
this is my downfall! when visiting family, we would be in the middle of one meal, discussing what the next one should be!

I am a Keto (low carb, high protein) and I know it works for me! I've done it twice (once 100 pounds, next only 40, this time I need 60), but i'm 15 down, and learning new recipes.

I am excited to see your journey in the forum and in the gallery(if you want to-please please tag me, so I can do virtual backflips in the comments for you)

Hi all! What a fun thread and thanks to Anne for being a great cheerleader!

I have been sneaking in some GLP-1s at a low dose too. I struggle with it because it definitely slooooooooows my system down which isn't great because the side effects are unpleasant but I've been slowly losing some of the weight that has crept on after menopause and which I have NOT been able to shift like I used to. I actually took a week off last week since I just needed a break from feeling crummy and at the end of the week was really hungry so it's a little alarming to think about what may happen when I go OFF a GLP. :scaredI never had a lot of weight to lose (20 lbs at the most) so losing slowly is ok by me - I'm just not sure what the end game will be. :giggle
