January 13: Storytelling (Journaling Challenge)

Dominick,

Here you are just 8 years old and so smart. I know that you struggle sometimes. I know that you have such a hard time with changes. I wish I understood how you feel- maybe I could help you more. But I don’t know how your brain works- it certainly is mysterious. You resist change so much, but ask for it other times. You have a vocabulary that is so large, but insist on swearing, thinking it’s cool. You enjoy learning new things and you ask so many questions- questions I don’t usually know the answers to. You question the world around you- and demand answers. There are times you push yourself to do more and learn more and other times when it is just too much work. You brag about reading but other times you fight it. You are such a contradiction- so many times I have to remind myself that you are only as young as you are. Today was a hard day for you- let’s home tomorrow will be better. I love you more than you know.

I hope I have translated correctly. I wrote 176 words.

I always dread this one, but always end up loving the page! I wrote 323 words! (actually more, but I had to edit down, because it wouldn't all fit, ha!)

I could talk the most about my love for the city I was born in, so I chose this as a topic. Cause normally, I'm not such a journaler. I managed 156 words this time

 

It would have been more of a challenge to tell this story in less than 150 words. I wasn't ready to stop when I ran out of room. Good thing I plan to make an album.
