So, our Spring Break is coming up :giggle

giphy.gif

I giggle because it consists of this coming Friday and next Monday. Yep, 2 extra days is all we get, so there won't be any trips in my near future, or any kind of real plans. I usually pick some home project that needs to be done and do that. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do this year.

Anyone else have a Spring Break coming up? Have you already had it?
If it's not spring where you are, do you have any kind of break?
Any plans?

I have never heard of a spring break that is only two days! Here it is a week!

Since we homeschool and follow our own calendar, we don’t take an official spring break. BUT in mid April we are going down to visit my father in law for three or four days and he lives a mile from the beach... so I guess that is kind of like our spring break.

A lot of the counties around here take a week for Spring Break, but I guess the trade-off is that they go back 2-3 weeks earlier in August than we do. And we have so many snow days, having that time built in to the calendar means we don't have to make up all of them. We've missed 12 or 13 days this year and it wasn't even a bad winter.

Enjoy your trip!!

My kids go to different high schools (one public, one private, pretty much across the street from each other), so they do not have the same spring break. My son's is this week. He flew to Missouri yesterday to visit my parents for a few days. Once back, he works most of the rest of break. My daughter has Thursday and Friday off this week and then all of the next week (perk of Catholic school... having Holy Thursday and Good Friday off in addition to spring break). We leave for Disneyland on Saturday and will return the following Saturday. Every other year her school goes on a spring break mission trip, this is the off year. Last year she went to Guatemala and next year is Costa Rica.

Spring break starts this-coming Friday and then all of the following week. DD and I have a show coming up (y'all will see pics in my LOs, I'm sure rofl!) but other than that we don't have any major plans. On April 7 I would LOVE to go to Connecticut and get a hotel for the night. I want to go to a flea market, but IDK if we can swing it cuz it's only on Sundays and it's hours away; I don't want to get home late and have cranky kids Monday morning.

In New Zealand we have Easter from 3/30 to 4/2 then school holidays from 4/14 to 4/29 which includes a 2nd public holiday in the middle of the 2nd week. For me it doesn’t really affect me too much other than I tend to avoid most major shopping centres while school is out as they become very busy and noisy.

Our kids were out this past week. They go back to school tomorrow. In SFLO, the spring breakers come here. It's called "Season". It actually starts after Thanksgiving and the last of the spring breakers don't leave til early May. Our traffic is horrendous and for those of us who live here, it's a daily battle to go anyplace. BUT, because tourism is Florida's biggest economic source AND because of it, we don't have to pay state income tax, we *grin* and bear it. It's especially nerve wracking when we have to be somewhere at a certain time.

My hubbie's brother is coming for the Easter weekend with his young family. I'll have real little ones around again for a few days. After that, no plans yet but the children have 2 weeks off school.

We had Spring Break the week of 12 March. We made a staycation of it and enjoyed local attractions and events. We like to play "tourist" where we live, especially in the time leading up to another move (and that's where we are right now). The weather was beautiful and cooperative and the girls had a wonderful time!

Yep, kids here started the last day of July this school year! I think it gets earlier every year.

My kids are out this week and the Monday after Easter. I work for the school district but the district office employees don't get the time off so I work all week. Boooooooooo!

I love flea markets! Not so much the crowds lol. I totally get you on the cranky kids thing!

Things get a bit quieter around here during school holidays, because we are between 2 Universities. It's always easier to go and do things when they are not in school :)

Every time we go on vacation, I comment about how the locals must feel about all the added traffic. I'm sure it's a pain!

It's fun to play tourist in your own area, isn't it? We do that sometimes in the summer. There are still things fairly close by that I still haven't done even though I've lived here most of my life. Glad you were able to have such a wonderful time!

That stinks...y'all should get spring break, too!!

My daughter's Spring Break starts this Friday and runs through the first week of April. I have this coming Friday & next Monday off so I'm hoping the weather is warmish so we can get outside to the park or playground. We also have an Easter egg hunt this weekend, Easter with my family, and lunch with my grandfather that Monday.

The kids will spend a couple of days with my parents over Spring Break, and then my husband is taking a couple days off and taking the kids with him to see his parents. I will have FOUR DAYS to myself! I do have to work 2 of those days & have a family dinner with OOT relatives to attend but I am so excited to have time to sleep, to get my hair done, to scrap, to see a movie, to hang out with friends... the possibilities are endless!

Oh wow! Four days to yourself! That is amazing!!! Enjoy every second of it!!

My kids have spring break April 15-19, nothing special planned but hope the weather is nice so I can take them outside to play. Maybe we can visit the aquarium and parks.

Our spring break was the week of March 12. We took the kids to Disneyland and met up with my brother and his family and my parents joined us a couple days. It was fun and a bit crazy - between us we had 3 littles under 3 but they got in free so it was great!

My boys have spring break starting this Friday (for Good Friday) and then all of next week. We aren't going anywhere, so while I still have to work next week, they'll be home playing video games all week and loving life. :giggle
