It's so funny reading through all of this, especially about your snow days! I've never known what those are, my 19 yr old has never even seen snow! Don't you get Good Friday off in the US? In Australia there are only 3 days that are public holidays that all shops must (mandatory) close for. Good Friday, ANZAC Day and Christmas Day. Sometimes some stores will open in the afternoon for a few hours, but mostly everything closes down on those three days. Easter Sunday and Monday are also public holidays so only shops are open. Most businesses and all schools, banks, Government places are closed.
Depending on your state we have our two week first term holidays around Easter time. In our state (Victoria) our holidays start with Good Friday, whenever that is. So we now have two weeks off. We only started school for the new year 9 weeks ago. It was a short first term. AND it's Autumn here! The leaves are just starting to turn on the trees and it's a beautiful sunny warmish day for us. 75cF, 24oC. Nice for this time of year!
