Must do a medical appointment today so won't get back to this till tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your help!
Just tried the 'nofontfloat' style again today on some text written over a photo. What it did is reduce the visibility of the text so it looked like an overlay. I believe that may still be a popular trend but I know my dh would not be able to read it on a printed 12" page. That did not seem to be what it looked like when I tried it before. I know it's heresy but I often have to put a slight (brown usually) shadow on text - yes, really - so he can read it. I'm already using a 14pt font normally so I certainly don't want it larger and looking like a Large Print Book. btw, for you Mac folk, once you load @cfile's style, this is what it will look like in PSE - 13 for me. That highlighted box says Default Style and is not active or available. The gray icon is the one to use.
@cookingmylife Maureen- The default style is there in case you don't like it and want to go back to the original it is a quick reset.. The box with red line is the reset back to original. It clears the layer style. Re the no font float... It is made for text on paper to blend... In addition blending anything with paper.. It is nOt really meant for text on photos.
@cfile THANK YOU so much Christa for the style, works fabulously in PSE14! and thanks Anne @AnneofAlamo for the tutorial, I remember reading this ages ago and started doing it and then forgot! pffffft! getting senile!
you are so welcome @wombat146 Ona.. I use it a lot too to blend papers together or blend things into one another... not for just fonts on backgrounds anymore.. LOL! Enjoy and have fun playing!
Its my favourite style! Christa is da bomb-diggity (I can't believe I just said that ) .... but she is
Thank you! This is something that has been bugging me for a while... little did I know that this little treasure was sitting here in the forum this whole time! LOL Thank you for helping me stop things from floating on my page!
This style I made is still available. For anyone taking Tangie's Scaredy Cats class and use PSE you can grab this style (or even PS CC users) so that you will have the style based on Tangie's class or Anne's tutorial.
Thanks for all of the encouragement @cfile Christa. Here's the first font I tried your instructions on. It was "chunkier" and I think I noticed the difference more.
