So, Pantone has recently released their color of the year for 2018...

Ultra Violet

According to them: this color "communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us towards the future."

For me, I just think

I'm not much of a fan of purple...not in my clothes, or home, or even really in my scrapping, so I'm not sure how much I'll incorporate it in my life other than playing Purple Rain on repeat :giggle

What do you think?

YAY finally a color I can get behind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a feeling one way or another abt purple. I don't hate it, and I don't love it. I wear it sometimes (it looks very nice with my bloated milk-colored skin) but I don't purposely seek it out, either.

My mother loooooooooooooooooves purple, though, and so I always think of her when I see it anywhere. For her birthday this year, she received a purple point 'n' shoot camera, a purple purse, a purple teeshirt, and a purple quilted vest so everyone else knows how much she loves it, too. :)

I will confess that purple could fall off the color spectrum entirely and I wouldn't miss it. I feel like the last few years of Pantone have had a lot of purple-y to them such as Serenity in 2016 and Radiant Orchid in 2014. In addition to not particularly liking purple, I find it really weird that Pantone gives them names that sound like feminine hygiene products...

I love purple, but not that purple. And just because I like the color doesn't mean I want to use it all over my house. I admit that I'm curious to see if home decor starts trending purple, though my own home won't trend that way. I need neutrals because they hide stains better. :)

Yah, not a fan. I'm trying to think if I own or have anything in my house that is purple....I don't think I do. It's not because I think it's a bad color...I'm just not drawn to it.

And my husband was looking over my shoulder and told me to google the joker...that's what he thought of when he saw ultra violet.

I love purple, but that particular color is... ick. Maybe as an accent, but not for a wall or anything else.

Sherwin-Williams paint has come up with their own color: Oceanside. I like it a whole lot better!

I saw that! And I agree...I like that one so much better!

my first thought and why I don't wear purple

I have to include....I don't wear purple or have it in my house, rofl....but give me a kit with purple and i'll buy it!

I could get down with black too!!

I could even get down with chartreuse...man I love that ugly color!

I love chartreuse too!

I'm not a huge purple fan either - but I love grey and purple is pretty with grey, so I guess I am in the "as an accent color" too camp. The ultra violet that pantone picked is kinda boring though? IDK.

Purple is my favorite color and I'm so excited to see that it's the color of the year. I can't wait to see the different applications it's used for throughout the year. Personally, I wear a lot of purple in various shades and have some decor (DH won't let me go too overboard). I even used to have a purple car!
