Do you ever listen to/watch comedy? Go to live stand up shows or watch on tv or watch/listen online? Do you have favorite comedians? Favorite comedy routines that you know by heart?

There is nothing quite like going to see a comedian you love and then laughing hysterically the entire evening. I've been listening to some random people on Sirius comdey channels lately (when Kennedy isn't in the car because you are never sure what is going to be said). When I used to commute to/from Seattle, there was a radio station that played the 5:20 funny, which was a lot of laughs most of the time and you got to hear a lot of different comedy acts that were PG-rated. :giggle I remember me and my brother, back in the 80s, watching Eddie Murphy's videos over and over and over until we knew them by heart. My daughter and I have always loved Jim Gaffigan and saw him in Seattle a few years back. I saw a bunch of comedians (I can't remember all of them now) in the 90s. Tim and I saw Rita Rudner in Vegas on one trip and then saw John Oliver two years ago (my head was killing me from laughing so hard). I had an amusing phone conversation (on the radio) with Paula Poundstone back when she was a big deal. I love Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes... I used to like Kathy Griffin and Ellen's stand-up routines too. I can handle a little of Bill Engvall and Ron White (although his crudeness bothers more more now). There are just a lot of funny people out there.

What about you??

I just watched some Jim Gaffigan the other night. He always makes me laugh SO much!

I'm glad you posted this because my sister is going off camping with her boyfriend and she is not outdoorsy at all (like me) . . . I remembered I wanted to share his camping bit with her! It's so funny!

I like him, too!

Haha my friends and I had all of Eddie Murphy's stuff memorized as well. I watched one of them again a year or so ago and still laughed so hard. One of my other favorites was George Carlin , ad one of DH's favorites is Lewis Black. We used to watch comedians a lot, but haven't so much recently. I loved Paula Poundstone back in the day and I remember Ellen back when she had long blonde hair and was just getting started in stand up...funny stuff. There are so many good ones!! I'm thinking I need to watch some good stand-up comedy, other than the debates :giggle

Brian Regan and Tim Hawkins are my go to when I need a laugh. Clean and tear roll down your face hilarious. There is also a comedy team. Studio c on YouTube. Very very clean. We as a family will just roll laughing together watching them. They are very clever.

How funny.... we went to a 40th birthday party this weekend, it was dinner and a Comedy Show. I had never heard of the guy... and he was funny, I laughed. :giggle

At the same time, I don't know that I have the same humor as a lot of people. I don't get offended, but sometimes, I just don't find them funny. I did enjoy myself, and would go again. Plus, we were in New Brunswick (near Rutgers) so I might be better off heading to the city for a show, not sure.

I also know a guy from college who DH and I are friends with... he is working on being a comedian and seems to be doing ok... and I don't think he is funny. He is actually more annoying, but that is also pry because I actually know him. :giggle

I will have to look up some of these people and watch a video or two. Then maybe I could compare. Kevin Hart makes me laugh...

I love Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan! I recently found some videos of Michael McIntyre and found him pretty funny, :)

Nope. If I could find a comedian that didn't have a potty mouth, then maybe. I just can't listen to crudeness of any sort. I'm sure they're out there, but I haven't the desire to seek them out.

I've always loved Ellen Degeneres and Robin Williams and have seen them both. Robin Williams was amazing at improv. There is a female comedian we've heard often on Sirius Radio, Kathleen McGuire, Maddison, or something like that. There's another guy we hear a lot on Sirius who does Tommy the single guy routines who cracks us up. We listen to the comedy stations a lot when we drive. Larry the cable guy is always silly and my hubs always says get er done like him LOL.

Huge comedy fan here! We try to see Jerry Seinfeld whenever he comes to town, we've seen him three times now. We've also seen Brian Regan live. I've seen all of Jim Gaffigan's comedy specials and late night appearances... used to watch Last Comic Standing for at least the first few seasons (not sure if it's still a thing, I've gotten away from broadcast TV)... I've seen all of Jerry's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Mitch Hedberg is another one I LOVE - he has passed away but I often watch his clips on YouTube. I could go on, I just love good stand up!

I love comedy! I love comedians! I don't go to shows often, maybe once a year, but I love it. I also watch the shows back on Netflix. I can't really recommend many because, ugh, language difference. But yeah.

Anyone of you know the Graham Norton Show? It is my absolute fav. I remember watching it on Comedy Central when I was younger, and I decided to watch the newest shows on BBC but I needed subtitles because of some of the accents of the guests! Lol. I can handle most of the accents now though. ;)

Oh I loooove Bored Shorts TV!! They are hilarious!

Whenever we are in Vegas we try to see a comedian. We have seen quite a few: George Carlin, Don Rickles, Sinbad, Bill Engval, Jeff Foxworthy, David Spade, Ron White, Rosanne Barr, Rita Rudner, and some more! We never go at home though. I wonder why that is?

We only gone a few times to see standup comedy, but had a great time. Craig Ferguson was fantastic and I also really like Bo Burnham although his style isn't for everyone. I remember the first time I watched a few minutes of Eddie Murphy Raw. My friend's older brother and his friends had rented it on video and I'm sure I stood there with huge eyes o_O. Jim Gaffigan is hilarious and Kathy Griffin always makes me laugh too.

DH likes to watch some on Netflix. Nothing clean though... so it's usually when kids are asleep and I"m in here scrapping. When I try to watch with him, I don't get a lot of the jokes, so I don't find them all that entertaining. I used to like Dane Cook... but hubby thinks he's so lame, he makes fun of me for laughing at him. whatever.
We do like Brian Regan. He likes Louis C. K.? and we have a Daniel Tosh album. those last two are NOT clean. And neither is Dane Cook. But I did go to see Dane Cook when I was younger, with my brother and a friend. We were all "barely adults" - i think my brother was 18, so I was 22. lol.

I like "comedian songs" though. Lonely Island is hilarious - though not clean. Sort of like Weird Al Yankovich. the music part of it is amusing to me.
