Drive | Pad Patter 9.27

I don't see the fun in driving around in a car. It's a necessity for me. I need to drive 36 minutes to and from work every day. I do it because otherwise I have to travel by public transport for almost 1,5 hours. Plus it's much more expensive. But if I can get someone to drive and me be a passenger, then I do it. Which is what I did last year mostly. lol.
However I rather don't be in the car at all.

Also, a fall drive? What's that? Driving around and looking at the seasons changing in nature? You would never get me to go along. Like, I sometimes enjoy what I see when I am on the road, but I'm not voluntarily spending my free time in a car looking at nature at the side of the road with just that as a goal. I like going on walks or riding my bike to do that though. But then you can go INTO the nature. When you're in a car you're driving by. Can't even smell the fresh air (partly because it's not there because of the gasses, partly because you're inside a vehicle).
Anyway, I'll stop now.

I love road trips, but not a fan of just driving around. My husband calls anytime we drive somewhere in the car a road trip... but I have to tell him it's not :giggle To me a road trip is when you make unplanned stops at kitschy roadside attractions and other things you find on billboards while you're driving. He's a drive straight through until you get there kind of guy, with as few stops as possible. We have a place in Michigan and I have wistfully looked out the window every time we pass the little Dutch village place in Holland as we drive straight through. If we were on a road trip, we would have stopped there by now!

My parents loved to take drives when I was little...like hours looking at scenery. I hated every minute of it and my mom jokes to this day that when she dies, she is putting in her will that she wants her funeral procession to take a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway, just to torture me! So combine that with the fact that I pretty much live in my car, I am not a fan of drives. I drive 35-45 min each way to work every day and then back in the car to whatever sports practice is going on and then games on the weekends. But, my drive to work is filled with beautiful scenery, so I get to see it without purposefully going to look for it :)

I used to, and I always wanted to go to the NE and see the pretties. But now, any long amounts of time spent in the car are just too painful, so I am forced to stick with destinations and not leisurely drives.

hubby and i do this sometimes to just get away from the noise. but we just drove from NYC to Oregon, so I think we are good for a bit. That being said, a couple weekends ago we drove an hour to the cost just to enjoy the scenery so yes, we like to do that!

I kissed the frog

I do road trips, but never just drive around in the car aimlessly. That doesn't sound fun. Now if I can get out and get photos somewhere, I'm game!

oh love love LOVE driving, and then love it a little bit more... I used to do a lot of just drive...
these days not so much as half hour drive is already painful....

I love going for a drive! I used to drive a LOT when I worked and didn't get a chance to look at all the wonderful sights of our big country downunder. With hubby driving I can just sit back and relax and watch the world go by! :)

Me and my hubby go on drives all the time! It is a great way to block out the world and just connect with each other!

If I have a destination, I'm ok, but if you've seen one set of trees and you've seen them all :giggle .

It got to be a bit like that when I was commuting between towns, once you've seen one stretch of flat, straight boring highway......
