A while back I posted about our upcoming move. Originally hubby's company was going to have us transfer to Colorado, where the main offices are. However, we knew they had many jobs on the east coast and we badly want to be closer to home (we're both from New England). Our choices were West Virginia, North or South Carolina. We put in our request and we've been waiting forever. The big boss FINALLY talked to hubby today and we were approved to be transferred to West Virginia! We will only be 10 hours driving distance from home now. I CAN'T WAIT! This will be the closest to home we've lived since we left in 2000.

Now to go and research the area we're being sent to. I need to find a good high school for my kids, and a town that isn't too populated. I hate big cities.

Yea! Congrats on moving back east and good luck with the move! WV is a beautiful place.
 
I feel like I should know more about West Virginia since I live in Virginia. Well, I've only been here for 16 years and haven't visited WV yet.

One of the main things to know about WVA is the late Senator Robert Byrd!

To put it diplomatically, "Byrd's seniority and leadership of the Appropriations Committee enabled him to steer a great deal of federal money toward projects in West Virginia.[10] Critics derided his efforts as pork barrel spending,[11] while Byrd argued that the many federal projects he worked to bring to West Virginia represented progress for the people of his state."
 
West Virginia us GORGEOUS! And don't worry, there are not all that many big cities, a few larger towns, but lots of gorgeous open country. Enjoy and congrats!!

So glad you got good news. I wanted to go to West Virginia when I was back east, but never made it. But Virginia over that way is gorgeous. I'm sure you will find just the right place to live. Congratulations!
