not exactly what you'd expect to hear so soon but things haven't gone that great here between me and the home owner and I wasn't totally happy either so became a bit of a recluse around her so I was asked to find a new place yesterday. Luckily a friend of mine from uni a few years ago has space in her flat a bit further from uni but still totally doable so I'm moving next Tuesday...eek. It came down to differing expectations in the end and too big of a generation gap (20 odd years as an estimate).
 
Sounds like you will be much happier in the new place and that will be worth a little extra distance! Wishing you all the best :)

It happens. Glad you were able to finish amicably it sounds like! And yeah for finding another place so quick!!

Sorry to hear that place wasn't a good fit. It sounds like there might have been expectations that weren't expressed. Good job on taking care of yourself. Glad it ended on friendly terms.
I hope moving in with a friend will work well. At least there isn't the age difference or as much of one.
You are doing great! A little set back is so little compared to what you have achieved. But it still hurts or bothers us. Give yourself a pat on the back.
 
Hope the move goes well and you settle in happily at the new place.
 
Unfortunately as much as it sounds like I was given a choice to move out, I wasn't really as she had made up her mind weeks ago it seems.

^^^^ this, plus differing expectations as well which didn't help. For example, before one of my trips home, I spent an hour cleaning the common areas only to be told I didn't do it, then when I explained what I had done I was told I hadn't done a good enough job. I've been criticised for not eating dinner much (I haven't been feeling 100% lately), leaving stuff in the washing machine before changing to the drier (didn't get a chance to explain I would do it at 8pm when it wasn't peak power tariff).
 
Aww I remember reading your post from before and thought it wasn't that long ago. Hope this move goes much better than the first! :)

When I move I will have been here 7 1/2 weeks - end of June I moved

Wow, did she want a new daughter or something? You've done well surviving this long. :rolleyes:
 
Yikes! It sounds like she was a bit too...involved...as a landlord. Hopefully moving in with a friend you already know will be much better!

oh man! That sounds rough. But it sounds like a good thing for you to move. You don't need stress in the place that is supposed to be a respite from the world.
