When You Have a Favorite Layout of Your Own...

do you get all giddy to upload it and get disappointed when no one sees it? I swear I think that I have taste totally different from other people, because the layouts I think are my favorites get little or no response and my layouts I think will be ignored get attention! LOL
Time of day and actual day of the week. Wednesdays and Fridays the gallery moves SO fast with all the SOSN and FF CT pages being uploaded. SO MUCH EYE CANDY those days!!!! But if it's a LO I LOVE and really want to share with the community I find posting in the morning, Mon, Tues, and Thurs is best. I'm on the west coast so always end up later than everyone else though LOL. Once you start posting you'll get people who love your stuff and check out your gallery regularly. I have my list of beloved scrappers and I go through the entire gallery often and find so many new styles, ideas, and LO's I love. TLP is really good at being supportive and in my opinion, our gallery is one of the bestest for both gorgeous LO's and people actually going through the gallery and commenting. Now I'm babbling. I tend to do that. Stupid ADHD lol.

Thank you! And don't worry - I can babble too - it's an affliction of a person who is excited about their topic!

Someone mentioned that this happens all the time in the paper world, and it is SO TRUE! I used to be on a lot of paper CTs, and it seemed like the layouts that I posted to either their blogs or mine that weren't my favorites got pinned on Pinterest over and over again, while my favorites did not.

I was on the CT for Two Peas in a Bucket (paper scrapping store) before they closed, and, though there were tons of layouts being posted to the gallery every day, there were seldom, if ever, any comments. I'm amazed at how active the gallery is here both for posting and commenting. I think it's one of the many reasons that TLP is thriving.

I was at 2Peas too!! I wasn't a paper scrapper though. I was in the digi gallery and we used to post in the paper general gallery so people would notice us! LOL

I was thinking this very thing this morning. I think it must be because we have an emotional response to our own photos. That, and I'm a bit older (55 years young) than most of the scrappers around here, and I think my style is maybe a bit more dated?

I'm going to be 52 in June, so yeah, I get the older bit. :) I think that my issue is that even though I have a great camera, I take snapshot quality pictures and they just don't hold up to the amazing pictures people have here.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Here's one of my favorite photographers/scrappers, Shivani, here at the Lilypad. She's just amazing.

ALL the TIME!!!!!!! it is usually the pages I haven;'t given much thought or I didn't think were all that (though, like Lorry @lorryfach well said, I wouldn't have posted) that get the GSOs and most attention.....
sometimes I get a bit frustrated, but like @carilyne well said, I remember who I am scrapping for.....and why...and is all ok :)

I've been thinking about this topic every once in a while. Does it make a difference in how you feel if the layout is personal or for a CT?

I agree! I'm a snapper, too. I envy all the talented photographers here, just drool worthy!

I love playing and experimenting with different styles, I don't think I'm ever going to find a style that's just " me".

I also have less comments on my faves than others! Sometimes it just depends on the day of the week :)

I love how everyone takes time to find something nice to say :) even on my least favourite LOs. The Pollys set a great example xx

I just had this happen this week. I did a digital art page - turning photos into oil paintings, blending of the background, and I was SO PROUD of it - and loved it. It barely made a dent with anyone. :( Oh well.

I don't think so, because for me, I only make personal pages for my CT duties as well. I don't scrap just to showcase the kit - I use the kit to help me commemorate the occasion.
