When You Have a Favorite Layout of Your Own...

Yes - this happens to me too. I do not stress over it though. As @carilyne said - I do this for me.
I do though, often finish a layout and think its not really what I wanted - then yes - low and behold - that's the one that gets the attention. Go figure...

Ha ha - yep!

I have the other way happen sometimes too... I'll be hesitant to even post of layout of mine because it's NOT one of my favorites and then I'll get a bunch of comments and a GSO. So weird. I agree with what others have said though, If you have a favorite, then just bask in the joy that you mad something that speaks to your tastes and makes you happy. :)

Susan, Yes! I am sometimes not even sure if I should upload a page and then everyone loves it. Maybe we have a similar taste. LOL!!!

I try, but I admit I'm extrinsically motivated with scrapping! LOL

Ha ha - maybe!!

I had an experience where I did a page for a CT and I didn't like it. I knew it wasn't inventive or pretty, or anything else, and I was right on this one. Not even a handful of views let alone comments! LOL

The funny thing is that I would show @Trista my page before uploading it and she would say I bet you get a GSO on the one that you don't like and most of the time I did. Yep, the page I don't like is the one that people tend to like the most. LOL!!!!

Wow - that's crazy!! LOL I think my issue is that I have not found my "style"...I'm still dabbling in all sorts of styles so I never get really great at anything. I look at the Froggy Favorites thread and just drool!

I do comment on layouts but I just wish I had more time to comment on more layouts. To me it's kinda sad to see layouts without comments especially if they are not CT layouts. I really appreciate it when people comment on mine.

I see some of you comment on a lot of layouts and I think it is awesome that you take the time to do that. I think that is part of what keeps people coming back.

Another thing is so many ladies are quick to respond to all postings in the forums. I think that is another reason that people keep coming back.

Everyone is so friendly!

That is one thing I notice here. It's active - it's alive - and you get responses to your posts! As you can see - I'm already at over 70 posts and I just joined on Tuesday! LOL

When I upload a page, I like to try to comment at least 2-3 at that time. It's pretty easy to do and I know it makes people's day!

I like to do that, too, and also if I have time when I visit. There are so many fabulous layouts!

Totally! Especially when I am SO PROUD of something I was able to do- like rock an awesome shadow or something similar that took TIME and EFFORT and then gets nothing... but I am proud & that is enough for me! :D I even point out those things to my hubby because he is totally guilty of glancing & saying 'looks nice' without a 2nd look ;) ;) I also agree on timing- especially on new release day & such- the galleries just get WAY ambushed. I need to be better about commenting on others- I feel like I can't expect comments on all of mine if I'm not reciprocating ya know?

We really try our best to comment and reply to threads, but if you ever have the problem where you can't find help, just tag any of the polly team to the thread by using the @username and it's easier for us.

The gallery moves so fast here, sometimes it depends at what time of the day you upload your page. We have Polly girls all over the world but I feel sometimes are "slower" than others.

I show my husband my layouts too; he mainly looks at the photos unless I ask him to read the journaling.

I wish you would point out shadowing, I am trying to get better in that area.

In fact I think it would be great if the pad CT's different techniques for those of us who are interested in learning more. I'm not sure how that would work or if it would take too much time.

All the freaking time! A couple hours go by, and I'm like "Really, nothing?". It's ok though. I get over it when I'm wondering about the next page and why it has 20 views with no comments/likes. Lol, vicious cycle.

I'm not on the ct here (but thank you! :) ) But that's a good idea! Next time I really proud of a skill I was able to pull off- I'll mention it in the credits!

I have the double edged sword of having a husband that is a graphic designer/illustrator - and he has taught me a lot about design...but he also doesn't understand the scrapper mentality of sometimes breaking those rules...LOL

I think that's a great idea too!! I like the fact that the comments allow responses in the gallery - so on the other side - if we see something that someone does that we want to figure it out...we can ask!
