WELCOME BACK ART JOURNALERS!

@Dalis I'm new here to this challenge. Exactly what does 50% TLP mean? Does the trinket box and background count as more of a percentage since they take up more space on the layout? Or are you just counting up the # of elements & backgrounds used to determine percentages? Thanks for the clarification.

my real life inspriation

gotta go in karen's room and see if i still have Mom's wall hanging she had above the phone when i lived at home, and if it still has my vintage sewing things in it.
I tried to make paula's more maple wood, so i used this instead, so so bad on sizing.

Week 2 - box series 1

nope, got mom's minute maid frozen orange juice pencil holders on it, a whicker barbie doll chair and and some of dads wood things he maid. old sewing is in square macy box, wrapped in tissue paper, behind karens door, on one of the shelfs

OK, definition of a trinket box?? When I first read the directions, I was thinking of a box with a lid on it that sits on a table and had thingys hanging over the edge and lying on the table. Ohhhh, I better shut up before I give Dalis ideas!!
:whistle

oops mine not a trinket box, don't read all sometimes

In my opinion it's quantity of things used vs space it takes.

Oooh this seems like FUN! Have to give this a try and get back to you!

How is that different from a shadow box?
It is still a shadow box, just a "type" of one. Last week mine was a picture shadow box, this week Dalis wants us to focus on putting little things in the box. Not sure if that helps. That's how I'm looking at it.

This is great. I haven't done challenges just for fun for awhile. Think I might hide here, :yup(shhh!)

not enough reality looking things in shop

Look at Heritage in themes, Paula's of course. Laurie Ann, It is a little harder finding them. Mine may be Christmas trinkets because I have several of Laurie Ann's Christmas kits. I know I looked for a while last night. I would think sewing things would count as trinkets but that's my opinion.

Things that I enjoy/care about are represented here: bats; soccer; family; figure skating; Pennie. The broken baseball-shaped heart fell out of the box some time ago when baseball finally broke my heart-I just have not been able to either mend it or discard it.

Sahlin Studio seemed only categoried herritage in older things

There is Search by Themes -- Heritage -- there were kits with one or two things. I like the last 2 boxes shown here. They just went with drawings, not necessarily realistic. That would work. A shelf of snowmen would have to be kept in the freezer though. Okay I'm weird.
