Are you using MOC to make an album or just random pages?

When I'm working on a project, I work from a plan allocating double page layouts, singles that will be side by side, whether the project is chronological or thematic, etc.

Then I have a project called Challenges and that's for things like MOC, the template MIS with Scrapping with Liz, blog challenges, store challenges, whatever. There I work with whatever photos strike my fancy, suit the challenge, or I come across them first. I've scrapped some photos over and over just because I like them. I may print some of these layouts eventually, but maybe not ever. These layouts are more about process than outcome.

I have a little 8x8 album and when I print pages for my family album with PP, I place an order of all the 8x8 pretty pages that I've made. They are a mismatch of what ever struck my fancy and some flash back layouts about when I was younger.

Truth be told, I realized a number of years ago that I had scrapped a lot of pages but not printed any because they were from all over (I think I'll print them all in a book at some time, though, just as a record). So, what I've done is kept a couple albums on the go (right now it's 2015, Hawaii 2014 vacay, DS#2's baby book) and I organize what I want to go into that book into a spreadsheet. I group the photos into folders that match the pages I've decided on and then I choose from that list what I'm going to scrap. Yeah, I know, it seems really detailed but this way I'm always working towards a book and if a challenge doesn't fit in one book, it'll fit in another. (Did I ever tell you I was an accountant in a previous life and I love spreadsheets and organizing?)

I too jump around. Always lose interest if I try to put things in order lol. But last year, I did put all my MOC pages in a printed album just cos I was so pleased with myself for completing it :bunny
Great thread btw. So good to see all the different approaches :)

I'm another who never scraps chronologically. I just look at each challenge and then pull up my LONG list of pages I want to scrap (based on memories or photos that I have) and then I go from there.

I always try to publish the work I do; 99% of the time, it is in a book.
So many MOC LO's go into books. When they don't fit into the book I
am currently working on, I will do one about my dog. Eventually I will
publish him too.

I am doing random pages for whatever inspires me for each challenge. The only non-pocket page type layouts that I do typically are for the challenges here at The Lilypad. I had no intention of ever printing them, but last year I ended up adding all my Month of Challenges and monthly challenge layouts at the end of my Project Life photobook just because I loved them so much.

I scrap albums, I scrap singles, I scrap creatively. Pretty simple.

For MOC, I stick to singles, and have fun! That makes it so much more enjoyable!

I planned on printing last years MOC into an album, but since I haven't, I'll wait, and combine them into a double album, lol! Then I can use up my PP credits. I even think last year since I knew I wanted to print, I made equal pages of both boys. I'll have to do that this year too. Can't have favorites, even if one is more photogenic than the other! :giggle

This is a HUGE challenge for me. I've been strictly a Project Life scrapper for three years, everything in chronological order... no exceptions. Trying to embrace bouncing around. Just today I started a new photo book on Shutterfly with the glamorous name of "2016 Misc. Scrap Pages" (working title). I'm adding my layouts there and hope to print this book of randomness at the end of the year.

Embrace the random, Tracie... it's quite fun :)

If the kids want the pages in the future they can have them, but, for me, it is the joy of creating and reliving my memories that is my reason for scrapbooking.

This is me :giggle , but I do print my pages. Individually. One copy of each. I have 4 kids and they can fight over them if any of them are interested, LOL. Truth be told, if any of them will want them, it'll be my girl ;)

I've never scrapped in order. I just grab what I want. I make larger albums with just random layouts. So I'm making whatever "feel" right in the moment!!!

YES! This.

There I work with whatever photos strike my fancy, suit the challenge, or I come across them first. I've scrapped some photos over and over just because I like them. I may print some of these layouts eventually, but maybe not ever. These layouts are more about process than outcome.

umm... you sound organized! Best of both worlds. I gave up on chronology years ago... it's overrated in my book (literally) :giggle

I'm with Heather. What ever the challenge is about, I find a photo and play along. I don't do albums. I suppose one of these days, I will take my hundreds and hundreds of layout pages and sort them by category and MAYBE create some albums------and that's a BIG MAYBE!!!!

I did this! Last year, I threw all my MOC layouts into a free (pay for shipping) Shutterfly book.

This is my first MOC, so my goal is to just do the challenges by scrapping whatever fits. I'd love to have some books done, but since I skip all over the place anyways that's not happening anytime soon. I put my layouts in sheet protectors in chronological order so I still need to finish up a lot of books.
I have thought about just picking a bunch of random layouts to print in a book the next time shutterfly has a free book code.

Yep! I skip all over the place! And that's why I love printing individual pages.

Well, I'm not the best one to follow. Not only do I pop around, but I have only completed two challenges. The first one was a layout for our 2015 Disney trip. The second one was a layout of me at my daughter on NYE 2015. There is no theme so far, unless it's about being FABULOUS. Bwahahaha

This is because we haven't been chatting. I only have 2 done so far as well!

I have been jumping around. My first MOC was 2014 and I completed it. And except for a few pages, stuck it into a Shutterfly book and printed it. I figured I worked hard scrapping all month, seeing my work would be inspiring. Well, that book disappeared into my sons room, and he won't give it back! Apparently he really loves the randomness of the book. And I love that he loves it.

Whatever goes...
Emotions, kits, templates and colours influence my digiscrapping. MOC is just giving me a little kick in the behind to get scrapping again after over 3 years.

I am scrapping the remaining stories from 2015, and making MOC work for those. I'm kind of working my way through July - December, but not necessarily in strict order. If an idea pops up for scrapping my snow photos, I will do that before I finish scrapping our little vacation from July. I'm yearly chronological, but mix things up within the year.

However, there have been a few all-about-me prompts that didn't quite work for any of my 2015 photos, so I will just put those in my 2016 album.

I am trying to work through my 2014 album. I am a chronological scrapper so thats easy for me. That said, if something catches my eye that fits some of my current pics better...I scrap that and go all over the place :)
