Are you using MOC to make an album or just random pages?

I'm the first to admit that I'm not a chronological scrapper, so I knew from the beginning that my layouts from MOC would be from here and there and yon.

But I was chatting with a friend and she said she was going to try to use the challenges to make an album. And I thought BRILLIANT. 30 layouts would certainly document an event. And then I thought, nope, not gonna happen. I'm organized and SHOULD be able to scrap chronologically, but then I'm like SQUIRREL!

So what are you doing? Grabbing what works for the challenge OR using photos from a particular event and making MOC work for you?

It had crossed my mind that they could make a small book. But now that we've begun I'm finding that what I choose to scrap is not very connected. Most of my pages will probably go into my 2016 annual album at the end of the year, but already at least two of them may be destined for other albums I have in mind.

This is a HUGE challenge for me. I've been strictly a Project Life scrapper for three years, everything in chronological order... no exceptions. Trying to embrace bouncing around. Just today I started a new photo book on Shutterfly with the glamorous name of "2016 Misc. Scrap Pages" (working title). I'm adding my layouts there and hope to print this book of randomness at the end of the year.

I jump around - I am great at starting things but horrible at finishing them, so it just sucks the creativity out of me trying to force what I would do next and it have to go with whatever challenge will come next. So I just browse my pictures and let the prompts take me where they may! (Bring on the squirrels!!)

P.s - the past years' MOC prompts have given me inspiration to scrap very old pics that I wasn't sure how to do "just right" until a Polly squirrel told me! ;)

I'm a winging it MOC'er so whatever takes my fancy to meet the challenge of the day.

I have NEVER scrapped chronologically. My paper layouts are in albums in no particular order. I've not got my digital layouts in any order nor have I any printed any.

Scrapbooking is something I do for me. If the kids want the pages in the future they can have them, but, for me, it is the joy of creating and reliving my memories that is my reason for scrapbooking.

My pages are all over the board. I'd love to have used it to get an album done, and I guess I might have been able to for a certain book, and now that I think about it, maybe the rest of the challenges I'll try to focus on that one....but I find that a list of challenges like this doesn't fit into one album. For example, the song album couldn't have gone in my "Elf 2015" album which is what I'd love to have completed.

So, the answer is I'm just pulling pages that need to be done and then creating pages to meet the challenges if they are outside of my normal style of scrapping.

This is my first MOC, so my goal is to just do the challenges by scrapping whatever fits. I'd love to have some books done, but since I skip all over the place anyways that's not happening anytime soon. I put my layouts in sheet protectors in chronological order so I still need to finish up a lot of books. Right now I'm working on 2013 and I'd really love to finish my Disney books, but since I skip around on those too I've still got several years to do.

I have thought about just picking a bunch of random layouts to print in a book the next time shutterfly has a free book code.

I am not a chronological scrapper, either. I have 15+ years of my older kids lives that haven't been documented, so I try to grab things from then whenever I can. But I am really just random with what I pick. The challenge usually dictates what photos pop in to my mind.

Brills. Though truth be told all my albums are jump arounds anyway. I just never have been a chronological memory keeper. But I could absolutely see myself creating an album of my challenge layouts just to have a challenge album. Or if I manage to keep to a loose "all about me" theme or "everyday" theme maybe it could be albumed that way.

(I make up words, for the record).

Made up words are the best! I like the idea of a challenge album. I have all the past years I've done in folders of their own, so it would be super easy to do. Some of my most favorite layouts have come from MOC.

Normally I scrap randomly for MOC4, I usually just chose a photo that speaks to me when I read the challenge but this year I have LOADS and LOADS of photos from our recent holiday so I am thinking I might just work my way through these photos so I will have a holiday book at the end :) .... that is assuming I manage to last the distance THIS year haha!

I've never scrapped in order. I just grab what I want. I make larger albums with just random layouts. So I'm making whatever "feel" right in the moment!!!

I would totally love to make an "all about me" album for MOC and print it as a book. The only down side is finding or taking enough photos, and not being sick of seeing them, of myself to do the challenges. Thanks for this wonderful idea. I have been sitting in the fetal position since MOC started because I am so overwhelmed I don't even know where to start. Having a theme is perfect though.

Well, I'm not the best one to follow. Not only do I pop around, but I have only completed two challenges. The first one was a layout for our 2015 Disney trip. The second one was a layout of me at my daughter on NYE 2015. There is no theme so far, unless it's about being FABULOUS. Bwahahaha

Last year I did all from one photo shoot I had done on my trip. I have found spending time looking at yourself and connecting it to beautiful elements and words that encourage or need to hear, or even just about who you are right now to be one of the most therapeutic methods for self-esteem. I did a photo shoot in October and have saved it for this challenge.
However, I also want to get Christmas this year recorded so I've been doing them. So who knows. What I did learn is I need to do a little more journaling to explain some of the pictures or what was happening inside me at the time. So I'm going to try to do that. AND (enough qualifiers yet?) I tend toward double page spreads so I just need to keep that in mind. I had trouble putting my book together last year because there were so different from each other.

Fabulous is good!

I'm all over the place, just pulling in photos that seem to go with the challenges. I must admit that I struggled on the Song/Album title one but other than that I've managed to keep my head above water.
