#1 Song on your 16th Birthday | Pad Patter 1.5.22

The #1 song on my sixteenth birthday was Baby, Baby by Amy Grant. I am almost 48 so I know I won't be having a baby this year! Hoping for a new neice or nephew, if God blesses our family with a new baby- I am not quite ready to be a grandma yet (or, my kids aren't quite ready to be parents yet)
This theme is quite specific! It will be interesting to see if a baby comes to your family this year. I have one niece due with her first baby this year so I guess it’s a theme in my extended family.

1969 … #1 in the USA for the year, and on my birthday that year … Sugar, Sugar by The Archies.

So a new sweetheart? Or maybe lots of sweet treats?

i got 'gangsta's paradise by coolio' which i think i remember was from the michelle pfeiffer movie about teaching in a rough neighbourhood that i'm drawing a blank on the title of - but yep, now i'm also feeling like i need to go double check the locks on the doors and side gate!

Lots of sweet treats is my vote! That’s my theme every day! ;)

lol check those locks! This song is now running through my head haha

The one I saw on Instagram was the #1 on your 15th birthday, which for me was "Mo Money Mo Problems" by Notorious B.I.G. :giggle

For my 16th birthday it was "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith

Another day in Paradise with Phil Collins. Well, I hope I won’t be the girl on the street calling for help!

That song brings back memories... LOL

Bubble gum music!

And for those who are unfamiliar with the term bubble gum music:

Bubblegum pop was a subgenre of pop music and rock 'n' roll that rose to prominence in the late '60s and early '70s. Bubblegum pop songs hinged on upbeat melodies, simple lyrics with sing-along choruses, and danceable rhythms

I was a high schooler 1967-1971.

True Colors by Cyndi Lauper.

Not sure how it fits but it's a great song.

Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree from Tony Orlando and Dawn
Great song but it would be weird to me because it always makes me think of the yellow ribbons tied on trees for the Iranian hostages.

Honestly I had forgotten that. I still think of the song for its original meaning of a man coming home after being in away for several years and not knowing if the woman he loved would welcome him. I was in high school when the song came out and yellow ribbons popped up to welcome soldiers home from Viet Nam as well.

Yep that's the one I saw on Instagram too. I changed it to 16th since TLP's 16th birthday is this month. ;) Your 16th song actually makes a good theme (if you like doing all the things...).

I don't know this song but yellow ribbons make me think of remembrance and friendship.

I don't know this song either but if 2023 is like a day in paradise that doesn't sound too bad.
