Have you tried any extreme or scary sports?

Sky diving, scuba diving, and bungee jumping a couple of times. Pre children I used to ride a motorbike and was taking flying lessons.

Now I'm old and boring!

LOL. Me too. I guess you recognize the risks more as you get older.

Zip lining is one that -- even though you are high up -- is safe since you are harnessed in and you don't have to "do" much. So, I'd probably continue doing that as I get older.

Eh, I guess I've been old and boring since I was 5 years old! I have never been a thrill seeker, and have never tried an extreme sport.

Me at age 5, taking downhill skiiing lessons, and just utterly paralyzed/immoblized by terror at the top of a bunny slope: I'm supposed to ski down there?! no, no, I cannot ski down there.

The Canadian tourist industry puts out posters and brochures featuring fresh-faced, sporty Canadians cheerfully ziplining across a gorge in the Rocky Mountains, or perhaps effortlessly ski jumping at Whistler... I am NOT that sort of Canadian, believe you me.

Hmmm.... We go white water rafting every year at least once usually. I love zip lining - did it in Vermont and Jamaica. That is one of my favorites! I love off roading on quads. I've jumped off cliffs, and that was scary! I was just proud I did it once, lol!

Yeah NO, I'll pass on anything that I have to sign a waiver for. :hide:hide

We went ziplining at Whistler this summer -- gorgeous! My husband is Canadian so we spend a lot of time there and he is definitely more outdoorsy than me (although he's not a zipliner -- more of a hiker). But, of course, all Canadians are not the same just like the rest of us. :lol

That's kind of how I look at it -- I like to try (almost) everything at least once. It would be interesting to know how relatively how dangerous some of these things really are. Like ziplining is scary because you are up high but I don't think it's actually that risky because of all the safety precautions. Cliff jumping, on the other hand . . .
