I was so close to finishing, but my Yorkie pup, Piper, fell ill this week. It's been awful and she's still not OK. She's going back to the vet in about 45 minutes. Look at that pitiful face! I hate putting her in the pen, but she is so sick. :(

I had this goal of finishing by the deadline and I had to face it last night when I was worn down, weepy, and frustrated that it wasn't going to happen. Were you frustrated, too? You are NOT alone!

BUT . . . I **did** finish 29 layouts, all of them with videos (well, except the last two layouts I uploaded - I still need to edit and upload those), including 4 live sessions over the month. That's a MAJOR accomplishment. I know some of you faced IRL issues that hampered you finishing as well.

I just want to encourage you - and myself - that even if you only made ONE layout, that it's a creative accomplishment that can set you on the road to creating consistently and thinking outside of the box when you are making layouts. So I'm going to continue scrapping daily as much as I can this week. I hope to finish those other two layouts today or tomorrow.

Need more inspiration? Join me in completing the February 2022 Challenges. You can grab a spot here to post your layouts: February Challenge Layouts. There are also some great challenges in our Designer Challenges Forum. And if you haven't checked out our monthly calendar yet, the Love Our Designers Event starts next week!

Share how many layouts you completed and what you would like to accomplish creatively this month. If you downloaded my collage template, you can share that as well. Here's mine - I still need to pop in those two layouts and then finish scrapping the title and embellishments at the top:

So sorry you missed it by so little. But as you said, this is a major achievement especially with the amount of free things you provided us with for the event and the templates you're releasing. You blow my mind.

I actually finished the event and I cannot believe it. I might have slept a little less than I should have this month, but it gave me such motivation and energy. It helped me focus my energy efficiently on other tasks and chores so that I was sure to have time to complete the challenges. And the only inspiration for me participating at all was you, so a huge THANK YOU for that, Cheryl!

You've probably seen it elsewhere, but here's my completed MOC10 collection:

So sorry you missed making it, and so sorry for poor little Piper.

You are amazing to have not just done all those fabulous layouts, but to have done the videos too!!!

I'm so sorry Piper is sick, but it looks like the little girl is going to be okay. That's the most important thing, Cheryl. This is a wonderful thread you've started - I'm sure you're not the only one who's frustrated, but hey, life happens sometimes. Hugs to little Piper. :bk

With all that you do Cheryl, I don't know how you do it!! You had so much more responsibilities than just scrapping. I am in awe of you! I'm so glad that Piper is on the mend!! I was able to finish MOC, but I didn't have a very crazy month.

My goals for this month are to complete all of the challenges here, including the Designer ones that I can do. I also want to learn how to do a new technique this month. I haven't figured it out yet. LOL

Here's my completed MOC's - thank you so much for the template!

Your pages are amazing! I'm soooo happy that you joined in and that you met your goal! Now maybe you can get a bit of rest! LOL

Piper is not doing well. They are keeping her overnight at the hospital to give her IV fluids, pain meds, and do more testing. :(

Your pages are incredible! I'm so glad you were able to finish. Just looking at the collage, it's the bobble head one that's jumping out at me. SO precious!

Let me know what technique you're going to try as I might join you in learning!

Oh NO!!!! I hate it when our fur babies are sick!! Prayers for Piper and Momma too - I know how we worry!!

I'm thinking of really finally learning how to blend - something I think you already know how to do. I have always relied on LBW, Rachel Jefferies, and Lynn Grieveson to make the blendy backgrounds that I use. I will spend an hour looking for a mask instead of really learning how to mask my own photos.

Like this: I chose to scrap lift Sokee's page:

Not much blending, right?? OMG - I spent 6 HOURS on this layout, and finally used NBK's blendy bits to get the background blended and the shield done. Then I see I did it upside down!

So I think that's what I'm going to aim for: Using brushes to make masks and blend backgrounds.

Yes I know how to do it but I don't do it often enough to say I've mastered it. I love this page that I did with a brush:

It took FOREVER to find the right brush!

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry that Piper is still so sick. I sure hope an overnight at the Vet's will get her back to feeling better again. I'm sure it was so hard to have to leave her there. I'd say that is definitely reason to give yourself some grace for not quite finishing MOC this year. You did finish 29 amazing pages AND all the other stuff you did on top of that though... so I'd say you almost finished TWICE over! That's a win in my book!

Actually, we just found out Piper has acute pancreatitis. We'll have to see how she recovers while in hospital. She is currently on IV fluids, antibiotics, pain meds, and a med to calm her stomach. She's had no more vomiting or diarrhea since she's been there. Prayers and positive thoughts are always appreciated!

Oh NO! That sounds awful! I'm glad they got her to stop having diarrhea and vomiting though. I hope that's a positive sign. Prayers going up!

Amazing job!

I made it to day 25. I was hoping to scrapbook more this past weekend but real life happened. But I'm very happy with what I scrapped. It really brought back some of my creativity and made me love scrapping again. I do plan on finishing all of the MOC challenges over the next couple of weeks.

I'm so sorry about Piper, Cheryl. Keeping you all and little Piper in my thoughts and prayers!! I'm also sorry you missed MOC by just two layouts. I almost missed the deadline myself due to my daughter slipping on ice and landing directly on her knee. It's pretty bad, most likely a fracture (to the patella). Now we have an MRI scheduled (not soon enough). :( It's always something...

Cheryl- you did the right thing. My animals come first. I am sorry you didn't finish, but your family and pets come first. I hope your dog gets better. Is it amazing that you completed the layouts you did and all the wonderful videos. You do so much for our community. You are really the winner.

I finished with 6 to go, still super happy with what I did achieve.

I am happy with what I accomplished as well . . . so happy that you got so far along!

I found myself being super inspired and wanting to create, and that was missing over the past couple of years. Not completely, but it feels back to the level it was when I first started scrapbooking.

Thank you so much. And nooooo! Your poor girl! I'll be praying for her for quick treatment and healing. YES. It's ALWAYS something!

You did amazing, Cheryl. I hope your pup is ok soon!

Thank you!!!

I'm so sorry about Piper being ill, Cheryl. It's great that they were able to diagnosis and treat the problem. My corgi has had a similar problem off and on, and they couldn't figure out what was wrong because all her labs were normal. They only said they couldn't rule out cancer. If she has a flare again, I'll mention to the vet pancreatitis. I'm wishing Piper all the best on her recovery. It sounds like she's in great hands!

As Sharon said, our babies come before scrapping. With all that you do, it's amazing you only missed two pages. I think you rock!
