Ruh-roh! i may be in over my head here. first time i've ever tried this. anything i should know or prepare before january 1? eeekkk!!!
My two recommendations would be: 1) to go through all your Lilypad stuff before MOC starts and separate out or indicate to yourself somehow which stuff is "current product" (currently for sale in the store) since your layouts will need to consist mainly of current Lilypad product and 2) have some photos ready to go so you're not searching through literally your entire photo collection every day for inspiration. For example I'm planning to work mainly with 2019 photos and have created a Lightroom collection of my favorites from the year. But if this MOC is anything like 2018 (my first and only complete MOC) I will probably also end up using heritage photos and photos from outside my 2019 collection when I know a perfect shot I want to work with from some other year.
This is great advice! This year is the third time I've participated, I think, and I'm looking forward to challenging myself again.
I think I registered too! 3rd year doing this challenge and I love that its a jump start to my crafty year!
First of all, welcome to TLP! As for your question ... Just be ready to scrap and be open to trying new things. MOC is about challenging ourselves--both in terms of the sheer amount of scrapping as well as in trying new techniques or scrapping styles (or number of photos, or element limits, etc). As I like to remind myself, it's called Month of Challenges, not Month of Easy lol. So for you and everyone else who's new to MOC, just bookmark TLP and be ready for the first challenge on January 1! Having said that, you might be a planner, so the thread AJK mentioned is a great resource.
Know what supplies you have and know that they are current, (not retired). Keep links for them handy for posting credits.
Officially registered. I love this challenge. It is fun and challenging. Thank you for all that each of you do in it.
@Firstoscartgrouch : First, Right click on MOC 8 the image. Click on Copy Image Location. That will give you the link you need for your sig. 2. Click on your avatar. A drop down menu will appear and on the left of the list is Signature. Click there. Then click the (little photograph) Image box at the top and add the link in the dropdown menu. TA - DA!
I'm so excited!! Last year, I ended up with some of my absolute favorite pages from MOC, so I'm thrilled to participate again!
I’m going to give MOC a new try this year. Last year I failed miserably after two or three years of finishing perfectly. After that I didn’t even open my photoshop for 10 months. So even though I’m joining in, I’ve also decided that I want this to be fun. If I don’t finish, but still enjoyed myself, I’m happy.
