February 27th - Rachel Jefferies

Yes this part is true, it would still be a good idea to check your folders to see what is current and what isn’t so going forward you are good as far as qualifications in challenges.
I totally agree that it is good to check your kits, especially so you don't buy something twice.

I do not want to blow my budget and as I already own some of Rachel's kits I only bought a new template to create my page:

OMG... I had so much fun playing with all the goodies in this kit.... I am not much for AJ, and this leans in that direction... It was fun seeing how Rachel makes her supplies... I have a new awareness, and respect for her designs... so many designers, just go get the CU things and put together kits to sell... Rachel is one of a handful who makes all her own products... Cool!!!!

So there was a little challenge posted, and I sincerely hoped to actually speed things up... Well, I extracted the full body photo because her brother was too close to easily get rid of.... and with the fly away hair, that took over an hour and then more time trying to add dimension to a rather flat image.. taken in the shade there was little contrast... Yeah.. I clocked 1 hour and 40minutes just on those 2 things ...then as I started putting it together , I thought.. Oh.. with the photos ready and the kit picked out, I can do this in 30 minutes!!! Well technically I did... but then spent another couple of hours trying other things, sorting through other kits, and shopping her store, to see if there were things I could use to enhance the page... I believe there is a total of 5-6 hours into this page, I lost track because my sessions were broken up...... that said.. I love it! and after all that is what really matters!!! right? OH Yeah... hard to tell that the image is actually extracted, since I put the background it was cut from back behind her.. sans brother! trust me. beautifully cleanly extracted, when I faster method would have worked in the end...

The site tells you If you have bought something here... of course many designers have sold at other stores, so no help with that....

Rachel Jefferies is another "stumbled upon" designer that is now my go to for artsy layouts. I am loving all the collections she does with others as well as the M3. If it says her name- I check it out. Her designs are fun and make me happy! Score!
I like the fact that she deals with real life situations in her kits... Not pretty happily ever after things.. her subject matter is so much more useable , at least for me than many of the other designers...

thank you sooooo much for the wonderful Freebie- LOVE Rachel Jefferies design and creativity!
I love the design for a very long time and was so happy to read that she sells here

OMG!...Thank You! So Much Rachel For The Gorgeous Freebie!...I'm So In Love With All The Colors Contained Within...It Reminds Me Of The Fresh Colors Of Spring To Come!...I Couldn't Wait To Scrap A Page!...I Used This "Sacred Time For Ourselves" Kit Completely Plus 1 Extra Element From Fa La La La La...This Page Took Me About 90 Minutes To Create Since I Had To Slightly Recolor A Couple Of Things & I Had To Mess With The Shadowing A Bit & A Few Other Things Plus The Blending Of Certain Pieces...

*For My...My Own Time Layout-I Used:Sacred Time For Ourselves & Fa La La La La-Both By Rachel Jefferies

Oh my pleasure! Thank you so much for scrapping i'm off to the gallery to comment!

@Rachel Jefferies thank you so much for the cute freebie! It is very much appreciated!
I said it before but I will say it again, I'm so happy you started designing again! I love your products, I see passion and love in your work. I think the time off did you good because you are greater than ever. :heartlub:beat
Oh this is truly so sweet of you to say thank you!! And it's my pleasure :)

It's hard to know when to start tracking the time spent on a layout. First I spent some time reading this thread for ideas. Do I count the time spent browsing through my photos trying to decide which (if any) I will scrap? How about the time spent scrolling through my stash? When I finally made up my mind to use this photo and started placing elements on the page, it only took about 15 or 20 minutes more.

I only have a little from Captivated Visions Days, Rachel's part of the It's About Time Bloghop, and today's freebie. I'm just beginning to figure out how to do this more artsy stuff. :)

That's a lovely soft blend into the background paper :) I did the same and timed how long it took me to actually scrap the photo itself :) Off to the gallery!
