I have been a fan of Rachel for a long time. I was Blessed to be on her CT before she had her retirement, and was one of the first ones jumping up and down when she decided to come back to the design world. She has such a unique gift.
Besides Rachel being a great designer she is an awesome scrapbooker! Here are a few of her layouts, using her own products!

And here is a layout I created, it is a Sneak Peek of Rachel's March BYOC products!!!

9am Interview!
For Interview.
1. What did you miss most about designing during your ‘break’?

The break really did me good :) It gave me the opportunity to focus on family and give my two little people all of the attention they needed at that time. I actually didn't intend on returning to design but there became a point towards the end of my twelve month break where I realized that designing was still really important to me and part of who I am. I missed the creative process in general but not only that, I missed the feeling of 'belonging to something', a team, a community.

2. Do you snack on anything while creating your designs? And if so what is it?

Not really as I have limited time when I can design. The main design time is when my two little people are in bed. Hubby and I will enjoy a nice frothy Nespresso Coffee when we have our adult time and we'll normally have a bit of chocolate with that, so that constitutes my 'snack' :)

3. When did a kit start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?

Eucalyptus! Which was the December BYOC. It didn't start out badly per se, but the circumstances were just difficult. I remember Mackenzie was teething and not napping properly so I was losing that precious nap time during the day to catch up with things, I had to get Keaton early from school with a fever and then they both ended up being poorly.

I was late making a start with the collection and had no clue what I was doing but that is where the magic happened. I started really simply just making monoprints of paint marks with my gelli plate and then I brought them all into Photoshop to work with them. As soon as I started putting them together and working with the colours more closely the Eucalyptus inspiration hit me and I absolutely LOVE how the collection turned out!! It's one of my favourite collections of all time!

4. What are two art supplies you don’t think you could live without and why?

Acrylic Paint and Fluid Ink. As long as I had these I could create happy painterly textures and illustrate or make marks, happy days!

5. How did you get started with your digital designs?

I stumbled across signature tags in a forum one day (I think it was a weight loss forum) and asked someone how they created it. I'd never seen a visual signature before and they pointed me in the direction of Paint Shop Pro.

I started making tags and following tutorials and I was hooked. I soon attempted to create a 'Kit' and then I stumbled upon digital scrapbooking and started to create larger kits for scrappers and I've been making them ever since. That was about ten years ago or more now!

6. What Does Your Art Mean to You?

It's part of me. I am not me without it. It's an escapism, and a way I can leave an imprint of me in everything that I do. I like to think that it's an opportunity to create what it is I would like to see in the world and put it out there.

Thank you so much Rachel for answering my questions! It is fun getting to know you better!

2pm fun challenge!

So the other day I had a busy day and like most days I had the urge to create something, you know what that is like I'm sure! So I headed to my computer opened up Rachel's folder of goodies and within 15 minutes I had my layout saved. You don't need to do your layout in 15 minutes BUT this is an example of how well designed Rachel does her products!
So your fun challenge is,....... no pressure, see how fast you can create a layout using Rachel's goodies. Let us know, how long it took you. This is all just for the fun of realizing you can create a layout with just a few minutes.

As you see I used her template/background paper and only 4 Elements. If you click on my layout it will take you to the gallery so you can see the products I used.

ohhh I love Rachel, she's a sweetheart and super talented...her creativity just blows my mind!!

@AmandaJ wow i love that and i love that you were so fast to scrap with the freebie and share your page here, thank you! :beat

I'm just having lunch here, tuna crunch sub and some fruit juice :)

It will soon be time for me to start the school run and go and collect Keaton. Enjoying the last little bit of peace and quiet :giggle

After a very quick shower I AM eating steel cut oats with almonds and blueberry preserves. :giggle I'd LOVE to watch a video of you Rachel scrapping. hint...hint..

I started really simply just making monoprints of paint marks with my gelli plate and then I brought them all into Photoshop to work with them.

While I don't think I'd really like to do gelli plates on a regular basis...I love the 'no mess' of digi! lol...I really would like to see this in action. An internet friend was doing it in England and she and her friend had a lot of laughs in this process which she blogged about. But it did put the kitchen out of service for a day or two.

I really love the recognition of sacred time Rachel. Lovely kit!
