January 9: White on White Page

thanks - thats what i was doing but to get a colored item white you lose all texture - tried on several items can only get a light gray.
hmmm thats strange, Did you do every step in the tutorial I posted? I used all coloured items in my page and was able to turn them white using my step by step. What program do you use?

There are many variations of white and of course our monitors show differently I thought we could use this colour swatch as a guide and as a reference for when or if you choose to recolour elements in your digi stash.

N.B: As a rule of thumb remember that when you start adding black to white you get grey and when you add yellow to white you get cream so please steer clear of really distinct hues of grey and cream as they are not considered white because you are now adding a hue to them.

Sounds like a fun challenge, and something I've never done before! I've done B&W layouts and monochromatic layouts in a specific color family, but not white on white. The color swatch you posted isn't showing up for me--did it come from someplace that you could link me to? I've read through the first 3 or so pages and haven't seen anyone else mention it, but I can't think why I'd be the only one it isn't showing for. :thinking2 I think I need to see it before I start, since the example layout looks more gray than white on my screen. Thanks!

Wow! I've never removed color from something and I've never done white on white before. Definitely not my forte but it was fun to learn something else that was new to me.

Awesome challenge Em :) First time doing a white on white page and I see it takes skill to make elements white and keep the texture I have much to learn about how to do this successfully! Hope this meets all of the requirements of the challenge :)

I couldn’t see the swatch in your post above either however when I clicked on it it opens up and I can see it. Its been hosted in Dropbox but am happy to email it to you if you want to pm me your address. ;)

I love challenges that stretch me! I recolor quite a bit, but I can't think of a time I recolored to white! Only one other LO of the gazillion I've done did I made a page that was white on white... and that one had pops of color, so wasn't completely white, lol! I was SO impressed with your shadowing and many layers... this is my attempt to mimic yours:

Wow Em, great tutorial :) I saw it after I completed and posted my page LOL :) I started working on it EARLY this morning and had it just about completed so I do not check the beginning of this thread again when I put the final touches on my page. I would like to have some more practice doing this :) Will I have access to this thread after MOC 2019 is over? Perhaps I should take screenshots of your instructions for later use?

You should be able to drag and drop onto your desktop and keep it in your digi tutorial stash hehe I’ll probably post this on my blog when I do I’ll tag ya on FB Trace xo

This is hard! I keep wanting to add paints and brushes! Some black. It needs to be dirtied up. LOL
I hear ya girl! Lol so so hard especially when you’re an awesome grungy scrapper like yourself! This is gonna be fun to see how you tackle it :)

@Justagirl I am also wondering what the best way to recolor to tint f5f5f5 without losing the texture of the element?
You’ll find a tutorial in post #2 hopefully that will help you.

I'll come back here, love this challenge Em @Justagirl
I can't wait to see what you create gorgeous, bet it’ll be amazeballs!

@Justagirl looking forward to seeing what my brain has me create. Great challenge!!
