Rewards Clubs and Apps|Pad Patter 6.26

I hate downloading store apps. Almost all of them have the same features on their website, so I'd rather just go to the website through my phone's browser. I have Amazon, Peapod (grocery delivery), and Cartwheel. I may delete Cartwheel. On the rare occasion that I download an app for a coupon, it has to be a great coupon and I delete the app right afterward.

Seriously! I didn't know this was a thing. I only use a couple of apps regularly. I didn't know stores and restaurants did this.

So, I need to know what the best apps are! I shop at wal-mart and ingles for groceries. I occasionally shop at Target and Michaels...and maybe a few others but those are more regular. As far as eating out...we occasionally go to fast food restaurants. No a lot though. Is there any NEED to have apps?

I honestly don't have many store apps on my phone. The ones I use are Michael's and Walgreens, because like @Cherylndesigns said... they're the ones where I see the most reward. Seriously love the Walgreens rewards program... Clara and I save up the points from buying normal, every day stuff and then go on a make up/fun stuff spree every once in a while.

Food apps: I used to use Domino's occasionally but the last time I ordered from our store, they called back about an hour later to cancel our order because a brawl had broken out among the employees! I use the Subway app any time I need to get sandwiches for anyone besides myself. It's easier to just hand everyone my phone and have them customize their own order in the app than counting on me to remember everything! :-)

The other store app I use a lot is Amazon... but not to order. I love the scanning feature in the app and will scan things while I'm in the store to read reviews before I make a purchase (or scan books at the library).

My sister was the one who insisted I had to get a Walgreen's card. She said "it REALLY accrues the points and you get money back!" I was so used to cards being such a come-on that I didn't even consider it. I also use the Amazon app - like you said Tracie - just to "look".

I have the Smiths app for my digital coupons and that's it. It seems like most app discounts are minimal and I can just open do a quick google search and get most coupons from their website. That's what I do for Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons.
Do you print it then? Or just open the website at the store?

No....Well.....McDonalds often has a buy one get one free Happy Meal, or $2 off $10 or something like that. It's nice to save a little when we go. And the Happy meal one usually means once a month I grab munchkin a friend, and we go hang out in the playground for a little while. Or, I eat the second happy meal.
The Cafe Rio one I have is really good rewards. Often, they send double points, sometimes triple, and occasionally special offers when you show up in the store with the app. It stays on my phone.
Micheals and Joann's and Hobby Lobby I don't usually know when I'm going since it tends to be a "Since we are nearby, I need...." visit. So the app lets me get the coupon without having to print from home first.
Smiths (Kroger): Yes. I love that app. Something free every Friday, and other coupons that you can use up to 5 times! I bought Heinz Ketchup for $0.99/38 ounce bottle last week with the coupon on the app. I've also used it when I'm elsewhere to see if Smiths is cheaper than where I'm at, or to find something that I'm having trouble finding in the store.
Target: I like it when I shop there because I can scan the item and it'll tell me if there's a coupon, or sometimes if something similar has a coupon.

Um, that's crazy. Seriously. And I can imagine the poor employee who had to call people and say "No pizza, our employees are fighting".

I have Safeway, Target, & 7-11. I get so much free stuff from the 7-11 app. Target's a good one too. I kind of resent the Safeway one, but whatever. I reinstall the movie theater apps when we go to the movies, since there's usually free popcorn involved. Tonight, DH wanted to pick up food on the way home. Chili's is always a favorite. With their rewards, we always get free salsa & chips. I checked my email just in case there was any other special & there was! I had a coupon for a free kids meal with every adult entrée purchase. Score! $30 total for a restaurant dinner for 4 (and I had steak)? That's only $4 more than McDonald's would have been. So worth it!

It's crazy how quickly it adds up and we don't even shop there that much! I do make sure to go in the app and "clip" the coupons for bonus points with purchase before I go. It seems like I get a $5 reward nearly every time I'm there.

Poor guy just sounded defeated as there was screaming going on in the background.

Thanks for inspiring another scrapbook layout for me. :D The left side is my reply earlier in this thread. The right side is about my phone apps in general.

I have our bank app, some shopping apps, IG, Pinterest, FB/Messenger, Etsy and a few others. The only restaurant one I have is Sonic, why I have no idea LOL

I like to take a screen shot of the coupon. That way there's no fumbling to pull up the website at the register, the risk of not having good service inside all the concrete, etc.

I still live in the dark ages - no apps but I do use reward cards. My main 2 reward cards are for grocery stores - both give discounts and one gives points (1 point for every $10) then every 200 points I get a $15 reward. I also have a card for my walk in hairdresser - x number of haircuts then $5 off and a card for the local bulk bin store.

I totally forgot to add that I have a "Power Up" Premium Membership at Game Stop. It's $15.00 a year, but I let all the kids use it and I have really racked up the points. They all save quite a bit on games they buy, too. They just have to give my phone number when they pay. For any of you with little gamers, it's well worth the $15.00!

Hmmmm... I use my Amazon app, Chipotle app, GameStop occasionally and CVS. I use coupons from emails (take a picture so I can find it later!) mostly.

I will now go get the Kohl's one, Subway, and see if there is one for any of the liquor stores near me! :giggle
