JOURNALING: Because I am an identical twin, my early school memories are of being "part of", not a singular. We were called "the twins." Since we were in the same class in elementary school until 6th grade, we were referred to as "the twins." There were at least two other sets of twins in our grade, but, because we were the only identicals, WE were "the twins." On our first day of kindergarten, the day when you just want to fit in with the other kids, WE were singled out because we were "the twins." The teacher made it into a game. We would be taken into the "coat room" and our dresses would be arranged exactly the same, hair bows straightened, curls move about so we looked THE SAME. Then we were paraded out in front of the class and they had to guess who was who. Wonder I ended up doing well in school (honor society) and not scarred for life by the experience. OR WAS I?

It is fun to learn about you through your art! My hubby is a twin but not identical. I can’t imagine what it would be like - Sorry you grew up at a time where you were treated so differently just for being a twin.
