My Mom was one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. She always tried to put other people first as evidenced by how she played Scrabble. She would make low scoring words just to keep the game moving while the rest of us would hold our high pointers to get double and triple count. Her greatest piece of advice was once when Scott broke a vase and I got angry. Mom said, “Things don’t matter, people do.” Everyone who knew my Mom were impressed by her humility and gentleness. I think the thing I am most grateful for is her strong faith. I will be eternally grateful that she showed me that faith in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is truly the only thing that matters. And I thank God that he loved me so much he gave me Mom as my Mom.
