"Twenty-three years ago, when I attended my first Creative
Memories party, I never dreamed that this would become a
passion that has just grown more and more over the years.
My first grandchild had just been born and I wanted to document this big event. My “hobby” has turned into “my passion” and it’s a gift that I give to myself - it lets me have my alone time. It’s a time to be completely alone with my thoughts and feelings.
Art Journaling has become an avenue for me to get my
feelings down on paper by combining them with my love of
digital design. This has enabled me to work through many
of life’s joys as well as the frustrations - the highs and
lows. What a wonderful instrument it has become
for journaling daily life as well as my feelings. I sit before
a blank page, not knowing what I’m going to do and thanks
to Art Journaling, the art just pours out of my fingers, straight
from my mind and heart. It’s quite a phenomenon. Art Journaling is probably my favorite way to “scrapbook” now.
There is also a sense of community that comes from being a
part of The Lilypad and other online groups. It’s wonderful
to be around like-minded people on a daily basis, who also
love documenting their family stories and history.
I say, quite often, that if I don’t get to do something scrap-
wise every day - that I get very grumpy. Scrapbooking has kept
me sane in the worst of times. I’m so thankful that I found this passion."
I blended LBW M3 June 18 ADDON pp 05 and LBW Lost pp 02 and a photo of myself for the background; the border is LBW IMQP; Rebecca_Birch; the font is Bondoni MT Bold.
Amazing job with the blending - this is beautiful! Loved reading your journaling and I agree - the community is such an important part of it! Great page! Thanks for playing along with my challenge!
I almost gave a heart attack to the Creative Memories gal that I went to. I was at a party and I started using pattern paper on the background and she kept trying to convince me I couldn't use that as a background. LOL!!!
@Cherylndesigns Yes, this lady was not happy with me. It was a CULT, I swear! One of them stopped selling me stuff because I wasn't following the rules! I have always BUSY, IN YOUR FACE pages, and that was a big NO-NO!
