This little pinecone might not seem like much but it holds a favourite childhood memory for me. Mom and Dad bought their first Christmas tree in 1964 when Shaun was a baby. It came with pinecones. To me a Christmas tree should always have cones on it, so when tree started to fall apart and needed to be replaced, I rescued the cones off it so that I could add them to our tree. Now they are even more fragile so they tend to stay in the box. But each year when I put up the Christmas tree I look at them and remember my childhood Christmas tree covered with pinecones. Maybe they will become a memory and a treasure for future generations too.
Oh Cathy, what a beautiful and sweet memory this is !! I am so glad you scrapped it, as some might look at a pinecone and say "why was this saved?" now there is a story as to the answer. How special that you have this very special memory and remember it every year as you decorate your tree. I love that as I believe that with all my ornaments.. they all have stories, but that from your parents, so sweet! Love the Merry & Bright elements and paper to accent that beautiful photo of your pinecone! (I by the way love pinecones and I am always taking photos of them!!) Beautiful page and thank you so much for playing along with my heirloom day 7 challenge!
