Family Heirloom
Alfred's coffee grinder
We went down to Småland to see the places where Urban's ancestors had lived. Urban had discovered that he had a 2nd cousin, Alva, who still lived there, and we arranged to come and visit her. It was a really nice time, we had some coffee and chatted. I think Alva was really happy to meet us. It felt a bit like she didn't have much contact with other relatives. Before we left, she wanted to give us some things. Among others, she gave us this lovely old coffee grinder. It has once belonged to Alfred Lindqvist, Urban's great grandfather. In money it's not worth much, but in reality it's price less. A memory from a time lost, and a family Urban never knew before.
Oh how wonderful this is Eva!!! That Urban not only met a long lost cousin, but got something very special in the process, something that belonged to his Great Grandfather. This gives me goosebumps as I can imagine as he grinds coffee that his Great Grandfather also used it. The bond is there so beautifully scrapped Eva with the wonderful stitching, the recolored (great job too!) alpha and the wonderful photo! (By the way, I tried to google the pronunciation of heirloom and nope did not work. I cannot even begin to try and pronounce it LOL!) Thank you for playing along with my heirloom challenge. Your page is wonderful as is your story!
