Mom: Hey Kaitlyn, what do you remember from when you were younger? Like more than five years ago? I need to write about something that long ago for a scrapbooking challenge.
Kaitlyn: What? Why? I dunno. I don’t remember anything, not like Kenzie, she remembers EVERYTHING
Mom: Ok, but like what comes to mind?
Kaitlyn: Remember that time I got dehydrated?
Mom: Yes, I do! That’s a good one, tell me about it!
Kaitlyn: Ok. So this one time, I got dehydrated really bad.
Mom: OK, but like what happened.
Kaitlyn: Oh, I puked.
Mom: Ok, but like why do you remember it?
Kaitlyn: Because I couldn’t stop puking.
Mom: (sigh). Ok, but what happened when you couldn’t stop puking?
Kaitlyn: Oh. I couldn’t swallow either.
Mom: Do you remember us having to take you to the hospital in the middle of the night, and that we were camping at the time?
Kaitlyn: Oh yaaaaa! I remember that. And I couldn’t stop puking!
Mom: So what did they do at the hospital, do you remember?
Kaitlyn: I dunno. But I finally stopped puking..
Mom: Well, they gave you some medicine and monitored you. We lost a camping bowl that day, ended up throwing it out because you were throwing up into it for 12 hours.
Kaitlyn: Oh, gross.
Mom: Ya, it wasn’t fun. But do you know why you got so dehydrated?
Kaitlyn: It was like hot or something?
Mom: Ya, it was really hot, and you spent the day at the beach and refused to drink anything because you were having fun with your friends.
Kaitlyn: If you say so.
