Journaling -
What's in a name? Shakespeare's Juliet said that a rose by any other name would still smell sweet, so I guess "Joan K" by any other name would still be me! I chose to use my given name to keep things simple in most scrapping forums, though at times I have also used my initials - JFK. I didn't start out as JFK; I married into it. My old initials - JFS - were not nearly as famous. Sometimes I even say that I married my husband just to get famous initials!
My name Joan is not a very common name, and as a kid, I really didn't like my name. Now, it is me! I come from a large Catholic family in which we were pretty much named after saints. My first name is from St. Joan of Arc, and my middle name is Frances is a saint name, but also the original first name of my great aunt who was a nun. She died in December 1999 at the age of nearly 105. She hoped to see the turn of the century which would have meant living in three different centuries (She was born December 27, 1894).
I guess I can thank her for a contribution to my famous initials - I often think of her when I sign with my initials.
Beautiful page and great journaling. Love that you are 'JFK'!! Such a shame your great aunt didn't make those three centuries though, how incredible that she so very nearly did!
That's really cool! I'm impressed your aunt lived so long - even though it's too bad that she missed the third century. I love that your name has so much meaning.
