Description
Translation:
These gnomes have been in our family all through me growing up and even before that. When we helped our mother empty the apartment when she moved to the nursing home, I brought most of her old gnomes home. Last year I couldn't find the box when I displayed the gnomes because there were so many moving boxes in the basement, but this year I found it in good time. When mom passed away on December 15th, it became extra important for me to bring out the old familiar gnomes, they somehow gave me comfort during the first few days. I don't know where the gnomes came from originally, but I think they might have come from my mom’s mother. They are made in Germany in the early 20th century, so it should be correct in time. I will always think of our family tradition of bringing out the gnomes a few days before Christmas when I look at them and how much my mom enjoyed Christmas when I was younger. I really hope that one of my daughters will feel something for the gnomes once I am no longer able to put them up myself and want to carry on the tradition. Documented January 7, 2023

Awww this is beautiful Ann-Sofie, and I am so sorry about the passing of your Mom. I just want to let you know I am sending a virtual hug your way! As for your cute and sweet Gnomes, I love them! I am so glad you have your Mom's Gnome collection and I am sure your daughters will be fighting over them :) I would split up the gnomes between your daughters so they each have them for their own homes and can reminisce over them! So so cute! I love the notebook you are using here, the title work and all the papers tucked in and under the notebook. The photo is wonderful! Thank you for sharing and playing along with my MOC11 day 7 Heirloom Challenge. Beautiful page!

@designbylime tack! Ja, december kommer nog att få en liten annan känsla framöver men jag är glad att jag har fina minnen som gör det lättare.

@cfile Thank you! I’m thankful for the virtual hug, it warmed me :heartlub Don’t worry, my daughters will have quite a few gnomes to fight over, these two aren’t the only ones that moved in :whistle:giggle

Beautiful page and what a fun tradition with the gnomes. I'm with you in hoping your own daughter will cherish them when they are passed to her. Personally I'm finding my daughters and granddaughters far less sentimental and less interesting in acquiring things I think of as family heirlooms.
