Every year since 2006, our local newspaper has conducted a digital Easter egg hunt. Columnist Joe Blundo creates 10 riddles describing locations in and around Franklin Co. OH where eggs have been digitally "hidden." Participants figure out the clues and, just before Easter, send their answers to the newspaper. A winner is drawn from all of the correct answers and given a small prize. Each year, my sister and I have worked on figuring out the clues and, when she visits in the summer, have gone to the places and taken pictures. It has been such a lot of fun and we have learned so much about the amazing attractions in and around the city in which we grew up. I am doing layouts to commemorate each of these egg hunts. This is riddle #9 from 2015.
JOURNALING:
Joe's Easter Egg Hunt
RIDDLE #9
Where chute-shooters stood in queues
And alley cats once rented shoes
Stand some vintage Georgian quarters,
1930s brick-and-mortars
In the shade of sycamore,
Go there and an egg you’ll score.
A popular 1880's picnic area along the banks of the Olentangy River was developed into an amusement park in 1899 by the Dusenbury brothers of New Lexington, Ohio. Over the years, they expanded and improved the area, adding the Japanese Gardens from the 1904 World's Fair to the site. A Ferris Wheel, pony rides, and a water slide called Shoot-the-Chutes were popular attractions. In 1937, the L. L. LeVeque Co. bought the park and sold off the rides, including the famous Mangels/Illions Grand Carousel, which ended up at the Columbus Zoo. They built the Georgian-style Olentangy Village Apartments which opened in 1939. A bowling alley that once was part of the complex was destroyed by fire in 1980. The park's swimming pool, built in 1920 and once one of the world's largest, served the apartment complex for many years. In 1996 it's size was halved to make room for new apartments and the remainder was paved over in 2002, again for Village expansion.
ANSWER: Olentangy Village Apartments

That sounds like great fun, and a fun way to learn all about your home town. Love the neat and tidy look to your page, and the framing of both the journalling and pics. Great page!
