A tribute to my little virtual learner.
And here we go again, a New Year, more lockdowns, back to virtual learning. None of us were looking forward to this. It is not fun or easy. But I would like to say that Nolan did a fantastic job, even though he was not pleased. He prefers in person learning because he gets to interact with his friends and teachers. This time around, he was not liking it one bit, but he got through it. We all got through it together. Every day he went forward and put in his best effort. I could hear him joining in on conversation, asking and answering questions, and doing the assigned work with care. He was engaged, even though he did not like virtual learning. I appreciated how he was able to log in on his own and handle each day pretty much on his own. This was a great help to me, since I was working from home as well. I am very proud of his good attitude and getting through these challenging times. It’s been a tough few years with this Covid pandemic, but Nolan has handled it well. He has missed out many things – birthday parties, traveling, play dates, I could go on. But that’s not the point. The point is, he has stayed the wonderfully playfully himself! He took it all in stride! I think virtual learning was his biggest challenge. He was not computer savvy at the beginning, but is now showing me how to do things! I will say it again, I am so proud of him and I can’t wait to go back and do all the funs things we can’t do right now. He was very pleased that virtual learning only lasted 2 weeks and is back in person learning. OH! And also, I am so proud of him for wearing his mask all day at school. This is huge, I hate wearing a mask but he just does it and no complaints! You go little guy! I love you so much!
