I inherited a petroleum lamp from a great grandmother and I really care!
The kerosene lamp was Invented by the Polish pharmacist Ignacy Lukasiewicz in 1853, it is a luminaire consisting of a tank containing kerosene (petroleum distillate), which rises towards the spout using a wick. The whole is topped by a glass fireplace.
The advantage of the kerosene lamp is to be operational all the time. You don't have to wonder if the battery is charged.
