The photo is of the Church in the main square (which is actually called Square, "quadrado" means the geometrical shape, for us a square as in a place to go in town is called "praca") is a huge (ironically) rectangle of grass , long that goes from the end of the main road to the cliff on the hill behind the Church, with the most amazing beaches view under and the Atlantic in the vast horizon.... amazing place, and it happens to be the place where the Portuguese discovered Brazil, well not exactly there but in main town. This Church was build by the Jesuits in the 1600s - a lace so amazing, and with so much calm, there is a cemetry, very old and luckily very well looked after, and there is a map of the area so you can see where you are ...the place is frequented by tourists of course , there is a path to the beach behind the church too, but amazingly, there is never noise, always calm, and a place where us residents (when we lived there_ go to think, reflect and of course, pray in the Church. TFL!!!!
