Journaling reads:
In the summer of 2017, we took a family trip to Hawaii.
It was a super long day for me, as I had literally
flown home from Ohio that morning
and got directly onto the plane with
Chris and Curtis to leave on our
vacation! It was so beautiful when we
landed to Hawaii, I had never seen
anything quite like it! Even though the
skies had a bit of gloom in them, we saw spectacular views on our
way to the hotel. There were huge stretches of island
covered in these stunning black lava rocks
for (what seemed like) miles and miles! We could
see also these beautiful tan feathery plants. Spreckled in the black rocks were some white lava rocks. We didn’t know they
were white rocks as we were driving,
but we learned about them when we
went hiking the next day! Our hotel
room was beautiful! On the bed in the
main bedroom, there was a swan
sculpture made of towels that reminds
me of when we went on our
cruise! The view from our room was just
spectacular, with grass, palm trees,
blue skies as far as you could see,
and a glimpse of the mountains and
water at the edge of the island! The
first full day we spent in Hawaii was
packed full of adventure! We
went hiking to find the
black sand beaches! It was a long trek but was so
lovely when we finally got to it! On
our way, we saw a mile marker
that said 21 Milo! It reminded us of all the
family that didn’t get to join us on the
trip and gave us all a smile!
We looked out into the water that day, but we
didn’t get in- yet!
