JOURNALING: This statue was donated to the University of Florida by graduates Bruce and Laura Gross inspired by UF’s advertising campaign: “The Gator Nation is Everywhere.” They wanted a work of art to convey that Business alumni were doing great things all over the world. The sculpture by Chris Williams, titled “Gator Ubiquity”, is 8 feet tall, 6 feet wide, weighs about 1500 pounds and is entirely of bronze.
On label: ubiquity: “presence everywhere or in many places especially simultaneously.”

Wjat an amazing sculpture!!!!!!! I was saying to Kapoh the other day, as much as I LOve your ATCs, is great to see you scrapping pages!!!! I always learn something new with you girls too! I have been around and learn about history of very interesting places through your ATCs and pages, love this and thanks for giving us the story!!! love how you found the perfect background pattern for this page!!!!!!!
I commented on this at another site and it is like a car wreck for me. I just can't stop looking at it, but ---- I think the thing that gives me the creeps is the memory of that one I saw several years ago in a housing development (where you were looking at homes to buy) just relaxing on the bank of a pond. I think he may have been as big as the sculpture. I can't keep my eyes off of it, however! You really did a good job with the "Gator" colors and that fab textured background paper. But, I don't even want to get near this sculpture (let alone a real one). Eeewww!
