Text: Exploding Pythons
A hearing loss can lead to weird communication at times. For example, one evening back in 2002 there was a TV broadcast that talked about a series of mailbox bombings that had occurred in the Midwest. At least five people were injured in these acts of violence. The explosions were accompanied by threatening anti-government notes. After watching the broadcast, (no closed captioning was consistently available back then)I asked Dave, “Where would they get them?” He replied that he had no idea. This kept up a bit but we finally turned off the TV although I was still trying to absorb this unfathomable news.
The next morning the Des Moines Register was full of information about the bombings and I had an “aha” moment. The paper explained that PIPE Bombs had been detonated in the mailboxes - NOT PYTHONS - which was what I heard. So even though we were having normal discourse concerning the source of detonation, we weren’t communicating.
Your title drew me in and your story made me laugh! So perfect! And what a great chance to tell the story with this type of challenge. I love all your elements you've used to add graphics for your story.
OMGoodness! That is funny! I was intrigued at the title and the thought of exploding pythons too!. Funny how hubby didn't notice that you misheard the story and meaning. Your page is beautiful with the trio of clusters and the kits you've chosen. Love how the whole page came together!
