The thrill of downloading a new kit and oohing and awing over all the delicious colors and textures is one of the highlights of my scrapbooking experiences.
There's something so magical about seeing all these
new items that I know I'll get to play with in some
future challenge. That mixed media paper with all the
paint and splatters calls to me and I know will be so
delicious when added to a layout. That cute element will fit right in the lower corner and set off the page with it's outstanding mix of colors. I can see
so many other things that are just calling to me to
put them in the mix and make my page pleasing to me.
Things were not this enjoyable when I was paper scrapping. In fact, I only did one page. But I did do 2500 cards for a small business I had with a local store and those were more manageable and fun. I made
about 25 cents per card after buying all the supplies but it kept me busy and happy for a couple of years.
Nowadays I simply scrap for the creative outlet it gives me. I love to do quirky things and just play with all the lovely items in my stash. I use photos that I've taken of events, family, landscapes and lots of other things and bring them to life with all the embellishments that enhance them. I have been doing this for over 10 years now and it never gets old. My other hobbies like watercolor painting, decoupage and decorative wood designs have fallen by the wayside.
Scrapping is now a part of my daily life and frees me to express myself in so many ways.
