- This was the one and only time we went to Buenos Aires in winter... Sarita was in secondary school and it was almost impossible to travel for Christmas, so we decided to go on the English summer holidays... it was terribly cold, but the family all have amazing central heating and (as usual) they feed us like if we were a whole village.... so we had a great time. Also the views of some parts of the city are amazing. This one is the river side, Rio de La Plata, which goes into the Atlantic Ocean.
