Favorites – Website Edition

Happy Sunday everyone!  Tiki here.  Are you totally dependent on the Internet like me?  I use the Internet to keep tracks of books I read, find answers to medical questions, organize recipes, socialize with friends, buy products, find inspiration and more.  I love running across new and useful websites.  Today I thought I’d share some of my favorite websites with you.

Photography:  I have become really interested in photography over the last couple years.  I have a huge list of photography related blogs I follow in my Google Reader.  However a couple of my favorites are Tara Whitney and Photojojo.  Tara is very down to earth.  Her writing is honest and from the heart.  Her pictures are not over processed.  Her sessions don’t all look the same.  I really enjoy reading her blog.  Photojojo is just a fun photo site.  They have the best DIY photo tips and fun project ideas.  I love browsing their store too.  They have all sorts of fun photography related gadgets.  If you love photography, you’ll have to check them out.

Photoshop Actions:  I’m addicted to Photoshop actions.  I’ll readily admit that I have too many.  I love M4H Photography.  Sarah is such a talented photographer and has all sorts of gorgeous actions for an affordable price.  She’s a real sweetie too and is always offering coupons on her FB page.  Two of my favorite sites for free actions are Isabelle LaFrance and The CoffeeShop Blog.  Both women are very generous with their time and talents and I use their actions all the time!

Recipes:  My go to sites for recipes are the Pioneer Woman and Allrecipes.  I’ve tried several other sites but I keep coming back to these ones.  I read the Pioneer Woman’s blog all the time.  I love her Photography challenges, her recipes, her giveaways, and her sense of humor.  If you haven’t visited her blog, you’ll have to make time to check it out.  Allrecipes has thousands of reviewed recipes to browse by collection or ingredient.  I find the organization of the site easy to follow and the recipe reviews to be really helpful.  I’ve found several family favorite recipes from this site.

Medical:  the Mayo Clinic is my go to website for medical related queries.  Their articles are very well written and up to date.

Books:  Goodreads is the site I use to keep track of books I’ve read and books I want to read.

Music:  Musicovery : interactive webRadio is a neat site I use to listen to music.  You can determine what music to listen to by your mood, define it by genre or narrow it down to a particular decade.  You can choose to hear only hits or only non hits or set it to discovery mode.  It’s a lot of fun.

Just for Fun:  A couple fun sites I’ve run across recently are Mitoza, Psykopaint, and Pinterest.  Mitoza is a little web toy that allows you to determine the fate of a little flower bud.  You can play again and again making different choices to see how your choices change the outcome.  Psykopaint allows you to convert your photos to amazing paintings.  I love playing around with this site when I have some time to kill.  Pinterest is a social catalog of everything you love on the web.  It is a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of images you love and “follow” collections created by other people.  I have found all sorts of things I love by browsing other people’s pin boards.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at some of the sites I enjoy.  Please share some of your favorite sites in the Comment section.  I always love adding new sites to my growing list of Favorites.
