August Challenges
Can you believe it’s August already?!? I sure can’t! Polly Karen here to bring you a peek at the new batch of challenges just posted yesterday in the forum. There are 7 new challenges for the month of August and if you play along you can earn a nice fat coupon for your next shopping spree in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%) Also, if you complete all 7 challenges before August 31st, 2 lucky (random) scrappers will win a one month guest spot on the Creative Team (to be a Polly). So let’s take a look at the new challenges!
1. One Word Challenge – Julie (mrs2a50) is hosting the One Word Challenge for August. She’s chosen one phrase rather than one word and wants you to start your title and/or journaling with “this is.” Julie created the following page to get you started:
2. Scraplift Challenge – Amanda (gracielou) is the host of August’s Scraplift Challenge. Did you know there is a section in the Lilypad Gallery where the designers post layouts that they personally have created? I love when the designers scrap their own memories. Several of my favorite scrappers are also designers here at the Pad, so there is plenty of inspiration in the Designer’s Gallery. Amanda is challenging you to pick a layout from the Designer’s Gallery and then scraplift it. Here is a page that inspired Amanda and her lifted version below:

3. Product Challenge – Amanda (MandaKay) is hosting this month’s Product Challenge and she has chosen kits as the product to use this month. She has some specific requests on what you use from the kit too. She wants you to use at least 3 papers and 8 elements from one kit. Here is a sample page that Amanda created for this challenge:
4. Template Challenge – Amanda (amandaresende) is the host for this month’s template challenge. Amy Martin has supplied another fabulous free template for you to use this month. Click the image below for the template and then check out Amanda’s gorgeous sample page using the template:

5. Random Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is hosting this month’s Random Challenge. Her challenge to you is to use a photo as your background. It can be blended, you can run a sketchy action on it or use it as a plain photo. Here is a gorgeous example by Heather (who rocks this style of page):
6. Journaling Challenge – Dana is the host of August’s Journaling Challenge. She recently purchased the book Listography Journal: Your Life in Lists and is using that to inspire this month’s journaling challenge. Dana wants you to create a scrapbook page that includes a list of some kind. She’s given some great ideas in the forum to get you started. Here is a sample page created by Dana:
7. BYOC Challenge – 90% of products on your layout must be from this month’s BYOC collection AND you must use products from at least 3 designers. This challenge will be posted in the August Challenge Forum later today.
