Make It Monday Shaker Card

Happy July y’all!! Polly Robin here with another Make It Monday blog post. Today I’m going to share how I make a shaker card.  My mother-in-law’s birthday is coming up and she loves a good shaker card, so that’s what I’m doing.  Thankfully picking out a kit was easy since I knew that the newest MPM, Hullabaloo, would be perfect for this card.  I hope you love this kit as much as I do.

Okay, let’s get started.  First, I printed the “Oh Happy Day” word art onto the inside of my card base.  Next, I cut a circle out of the front of the card so that the “Oh Happy Day” showed through.  I used that same circle die cut to cut holes in the exact same position out of white card stock and the pink paper which I printed.  Here are the three pieces, each with the same circle cut away:

See how my word art peeks through?  Next, I stamped my “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the front of pink cover paper, and then adhered a piece of plastic packaging to the backside of it.  I also covered the entire back with double-sided sticky foam tape so that I’d have some room for the confetti to move once I added it to the card front:

After the pink cover paper was ready, I opened my card base up, and adhered another piece of plastic packaging to the back of it so that it covered the hole on the card base front.  In order to hide my glue, I adhered that other white piece of cardstock you saw earlier to cover my packaging.  This also serves to strengthen my card!  I then sprinkled some fun confetti on the front side of the card, right in the middle of that circle which was covered by packaging. I adhered the pink cardstock on top of the white card front, making sure I trapped all the confetti inside the center of the circle:

Finally, I added some cut out elements and gems and my card was done!

See how easy it is?  You basically just need to sandwich some confetti between two layers – in this case it was two layers of plastic so that the “Oh Happy Day” word art would show through the circle opening.  It really is easy, and I hope you give it a try!
