Pi by Any Other Name is Still PIE
Yes, indeed, it is PI (as in 3.14) Day! This is an important day of a mathematical constant. The amazing π. March (the 3rd month) and the 14th day. See it all works out. Some people go as far as waiting until the first hour, and 59 seconds of the day for the extended Pi. (3.14159).
You see, in order to figure out the circumference of a circle, you need pi and PIES are round. I am a lover of numbers, math and pies! The origination of the celebration of Pi Day is from a nearby town I grew up in, called San Francisco. The Exploratorium in the city had a gathering on March 14, and they thought, it a crazy coincidence to the math formula, and began celebrating it every year. It caught on. The fact that Albert Einstein was also born and Stephen Hawking died on this mathematical amazing day just adds more intrigued to the day.
There is more to PIE than meets the eye. I just had to type that. Makes me laugh hysterical! Many pizza places have specials today just for Pi Day, and Amazon has sales too. But, make the most of this day. We go to our local McDonalds and have PIE and ice cream and laugh at the absurdity of it all!
