November Challenge Spotlight

Hello everyone!   It’s Polly Karen here bringing you the Challenge Spotlight post for November.  Once a month I have the privilege of looking through the challenge galleries to find just a few of my favorite layouts and shine my spotlight on them here.

If you aren’t familiar with the challenges, here’s a little information about them to get you started.  We offer 8 monthly challenges in the forum each month.  If you play along with these challenges you can earn yourself a coupon to use on your next Lilypad shopping spree.  You will earn as follows:  2 challenges = 10% off, 4 challenges = 20% off and 6 challenges = 30% off.  Also, if you finish at least 7 challenges, in addition to your coupon, you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate!  Now let’s look at some of the standout pages created for November’s challenges:

Sigh.  I just love doing this post every month and having an excuse to dive into all the challenge galleries.  There are always so many amazing layouts and it never fails to inspire me!  I hope all of these fabulous layouts have inspired you as well and if you have a minute and would like to spread some love, all the images above are linked.  Finally, this is your reminder that TODAY, November 30th is the last day to complete these challenges yourself and earn a discount coupon and possibly even a $50 gift certificate!  Now that is worth scrapping for!  I’ll be back soon with a look at the new batch of challenges for December.

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
